Even with the busyness and stress of the holiday season, there’s one thing I can always rejoice in: the countless blessings God has given me. This year I am especially aware of this blessing—the power and influence of my readers.
Yup, you read that right! I said power and influence. You, dear reader, play an integral part in an author’s life.
As I was preparing to write this blog post, I asked my fellow InspyRomance authors to tell me why they’re thankful for their readers. I was surprised to see the answers come in so quickly—but I shouldn’t have been! It’s easy to identify the reasons why we appreciate you! Here are nine of them:
I’m thankful to God for my readers for enjoying my books and for waiting patiently for my next books to be released. ~Jan Edttii Thompson
I’m thankful for the notes (or reviews) they share that encourage me to keep writing. ~Toni Shiloh
I’m also so thankful for reviews and people willing to spend their hard earned money on my stories. ~Elizabeth Perry Maddrey
I’m thankful for how readers share with me how a book impacted them. It’s such a blessing! ~Kimberly Johnson
I thank God that people spend their time reading my stories. I’m grateful and I pray they leave my little imaginary world feeling blessed and encouraged. ~Sally Howe Bayless
I’m thankful readers choose my books when I know there are so many things, including other Christian books, they could have purchased. ~Julie Arduini
I’m thankful for every encouraging email, message, and review. Knowing I am entertaining and impacting readers for Jesus means a lot to me. ~Valerie Comer
Writing can be a lonely endeavor, and when they send comments and emails, it is so encouraging! I love meeting them in person too! So much fun! ~Janet Ferguson
I’m so thankful for readers who take the time to comment, post bookstagrams, review, send messages, or otherwise interact in any way. ~Jaycee Weaver
And one more from me:
I’m so thankful for the friendships I have formed with my readers. Their support and encouragement keep me going, especially through the tough times of writing. I feel so blessed to have readers who believe in and love my characters as much as I do.
I hope you, dear reader, know how precious you are! I wish I could give you a hug of thanks, but I’ll leave you with these virtual goodies instead. :)
And I hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving! I’ll be spending the day with my hubby’s side of the family and probably eating Chinese food this year. ;) Let me know in the comments below what your plans are for tomorrow. I look forward to reading about your traditions!
Renate says
Happy Thanksgiving and thank you Liwen and all Inspy Romance authors! Turkey is thawing. This German American is making a turkey with stuffing for two. Best wishes.
Toni Shiloh says
Happy Thanksgiving! We’ll be eating some crab mac and cheese, jambalaya, and other goodies. And of course, watching football!
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
I’ll be watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, cooking a few side dishes, then taking everything over to my parents’ house which is walking distance. I hope to catch a football game and maybe a Christmas movie.
Valerie Comer says
This Canadian is having a regular work day tomorrow! But for our own Thanksgiving, which takes place in October, we also celebrate by gathering the whole family together for a turkey dinner and being grateful together.
Julie Arduini says
It’s just our little family and our son’s girlfriend this year. I have a turkey, two pumpkin pies, mashed potatoes, gravy, fruit sala, dinner rolls, broccoli, corn. We’ll watch the parade and football, and start decorating for Christmas.
Merrillee Whren says
Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it in November. Thankfulness is something we should practice all year long.
Betty R. says
I am very thankful for all the authors! Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! We had a family celebration yesterday, so my husband and I (and the dogs) will have our own small Thanksgiving dinner.
Margaret Nelson says
I’m thankful for all you great authors!
Tomorrow morning we are volunteering with Operation Turkey – we’ll help put meals together that others will deliver to shut-ins, the homeless, etc. Then in the afternoon we’ll have our own turkey dinner with my aunt, a couple cousins, and some neighbors.
I’m also THANKFUL for RAIN!!
Janet A Ferguson says
That sounds like a wonderful ministry!
Trudy says
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you at Inspy!! I’ll be getting together with 22 to 24 family members tomorrow. Mom and I are making the sweet potato casserole we’ll all be eating. My sisters, a nephew and his wife, and others will all be bringing something for the meal. Since some of the great nieces and nephews will be with us, some of them may be brave enough to go in the pool. I’ll spend part of the day reading!

Oh my, the pool?! I hope it’s heated. :) That sounds like a wonderful time. We had a lot of large family gatherings when I was young and it was great seeing everyone. Thanks for reading and commenting. Happy Thanksgiving to you!
Trudy says
No, the pool isn’t heated!! There’s an outside shower, so they can turn the hot water on there to warm up before wrapping up in towels to come in the house. The high tomorrow is to be 81, but the water will be cooler than that. They may decide not to go in, you never can tell!
Liwen Y. Ho says
Oh, 81 is great, especially for late November! :)
Ausjenny says
