Welcome to Week 3 of our Birthday Bash!!
Sure, it is our birthday, but we’re giving the gifts to EIGHT lucky winners. We’re doing things a bit differently this time around. No weekly winners, but we’ll draw eight names when the giveaway closes March 18 and announce all the winners on Sunday, March 22. We’re doing only ONE Rafflecopter for the whole five weeks this time instead of one a week, and you can enter as often as you like. Plus, as always, every comment counts from now until then as well. Got it?
Each week in Sunday Edition I’ll tell you about one or two of the prizes you could win. This week, let’s talk about…
TWO $50 GIFT CERTIFICATES!
TWO lucky winners will be able to choose a 50USD gift certificate* from your choice of:

How We Met
Elizabeth Maddrey: My husband, Tim, and I don’t have one of those stories that involve longing looks across a crowded room. We’re both much too nerdy for that. So, picture with me, if you will, mid-August 1992. It’s warm, but not unbearably so. The grass is green. The early morning sun is shining. The air itself seems to be full of promise and possibility because today is the first day of our freshman year at Wheaton College.
As the institutional clocks all tick and chunk to mark the hour, we settle into our desks and look about furtively. It’s 8 a.m. There are just a handful of people in the classroom, and none look familiar. All but one are clearly returning students who know one another as they’re chatting comfortably and catching up. That one, like me, sits quietly at his desk looking slightly anxious. He’s wearing faded grey jeans and a teal striped shirt. Hesitantly, we strike up a conversation, exchange names and the fact that yes, we’re both freshmen, then the professor walks in and we’re awash in details about the fascinating (ha!) world of computer architecture.

Thanks for choosing me as the winner. I know it’s random, but I still feel I should say thanks. :)

Great wedding picture Elizabeth & Tim! It always makes me laugh when the couple aren’t all serious, what’s life if you can’t laugh? I bet you had a fun-filled wedding, reception & honeymoon! So, how long did it take after that first meeting in the classroom for you two to start dating? Haha…I know there’s got to be a story in that :D Guess it’s the romantic coming out in me.
Thanks for sharing a tidbit about yourself! I always like learning a bit more about our wonderful authors and what makes them tick! Blessings to you and yours!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
We had (and continue to have) a ton of laughs. It’ll be 20 years this year. :) we didn’t start dating until our sophomore year – but by that point we were best friends. Lots of amusing “almost” dating stories til we finally got it together. :)
Elizabeth Maddrey, I enjoyed reading how you met your hubby! :)
