Hello Inspy Romancers! Can you believe today is the last day of 2022? I truly can’t. It seems like the older I get, the faster time passes, wouldn’t you agree?
Before we say goodbye to this year, let’s take a look back at some events that occurred over the past twelve months. Thanks to the internet, there were plenty of news articles for me to choose from when I compiled this list. So, without further ado, here’s our year in review.
January: Poet Maya Angelou became the first Black woman to be featured on a U.S. quarter.
February: The Winter Olympics took place in Beijing, China.
March: Phil Collins and Genesis performed their last concert.
April: The Axiom-1 mission sent the first private crew to the International Space Station on April 8. On April 27, SpaceX’s all-private Crew-4 mission also flew to the ISS.
May: Taco Bell’s Mexican Pizza came back on the menu.
June: Queen Elizabeth II Celebrated 70 Years On The English Throne.
July: Facebook redesigned the home feed.
August: Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck got married.
September: M&M’s revealed a new color for the first time in over a decade: purple.
October: Trader Joe’s brought back free samples in their stores.
November: The Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse, New York welcomed twin elephants.
December: Three Inspy Romance authors released new books this month, bringing the total books released this year by Inspy Romance authors to 61.
And there you have it, folks—12 newsworthy events from 2022! I hope you enjoyed this look back.
Now it’s your turn to chime in! What significant event(s) do you remember from 2022? And how many books did you read this year? Feel free to share in the comments below. I look forward to reading your answers!

Some of the big events of the year were not the most cheerful. Feb the War in Ukraine started. then in Sept Queen Elizabeth passed away.
here where I am there was a state election, federal election and council elections.
We had the Commonwealth games and a girl who grew up here won the marathon.
I read about 40 books including some devotionals this year.
I will set a low target this year again and up it as I reach it. I know this coming year I have a few things coming up that will make me tired and reading will be on the back burner. The first getting a tooth removed surgically the beginning of Feb. Till then i will be dealing with some tooth pain which tends to tire me out.

I agree about time passing faster, where has the year gone?! Although your August news makes me feel like we’ve gone back a few years lol.
This has been a year with a lot of news. Here in the UK we celebrated the Queen’s jubilee followed by her sad passing in September. We’ve had 3 Prime Ministers. The sad news of the war in Ukraine and the difficulties caused by inflation and fuel price increases. Hoping 2023 is a bit more peaceful!

Happy New Year Liwen! Time marches quickly in retirement. Grandchildren are growing up fast. Oldest grandson will be graduating from high school June 2023. This year youngest granddaughter started Kindergarten. Fun activity in July was having Mermaid Camp for my youngest granddaughter’s half birthday (5 1/2). She enjoyed a sleepover with her cousin (age 8) and a party at a splash pad.
The conflict in the Ukraine hits close to home. My grandfather was born near Kyiv, Ukraine in 1893. My great great grandfather had to serve in the Russian army, therefore my Great Uncle Otto to avoid being conscripted into the Russian army, immigrated to the United States in 1914 at the beginning of WW1.
For the last few years I have surpassed by 150 book reading goal. One of the benefits of being retired. Lots of time to read, especially when the weather isn’t pleasant.
Happy New Year to ALL!

I read 4 devotionals this year, two different Bibles, and a total of 231 books!! I’m still reading the 231st, but I’ll finish it today, and start another!! I proofread/edited 96 books!! I lost one of my favorite cousins this year, just about a week before his 66th birthday, thought I know I’ll see him again!! I’ve lost quite a few friends this year, some I’m sure I’ll see again, some I think I will. I had some great times with friends, one of which was my “Dutch treat” birthday party I threw for myself with help from one of my BFF’s. It’s been two years since Mom’s homegoing, and I can say while some of the changes haven’t been good, some of the changes have been great!! I also go to meet my niece, Bethany’s, two youngest Kiwi’s!! Her youngest will be two next month!!

I would have to say Queen Elizabeth’s death which led to King Charles being the king in England. On a personal note, I received my electric wheelchair on Thursday. I have read over 80 books this year. Thank you so much for sharing. God bless you. Happy New Year.
