Valentines Day will be here before you know it.
Whether you love or hate this heartfelt holiday, I have another sweet story from Madison Creek for you.
Daniel McAlister first appeared in Sun Kisses, along with his feisty Pop, Paul McAlister. They’re both back in The Heart Collector- A Madison Creek Novella #3. Check out the video below and I’ll also add a link to the first couple of sample chapters.
One of the things that inspired this story was the growing number of friends and family I’ve lost to cancer. Each of them faced their sickness with bravery and courage that simply stunned me. And walking with them through their time left here helped me to understand what a gift life is.
Jesus said don’t worry about tomorrow because today has enough troubles of its own. Isn’t that the truth? Nobody is promised tomorrow. Today is really the only time that matters. This story allowed me to explore that idea.
Here’s what readers are saying:
I truly liked the characters even with their faults. I loved the fact that Sara’s first marriage was a great one. So many romances make the first marriage bad. She doesn’t regret her marriage even though Neil’s death caused her great heartache. Sara learns to depend on God and trust him with her tomorrows. —Amazon reviewer
This is a sweet story of old friendship, lost dreams, renewal and faith. I loved the characters, the small town setting, the sweet romance, and how faith is interwoven throughout. I found myself wanting to give these folks a hug. That’s how much this story touched me. –Amazon Reviewer

I hope all of you have a wonderful Valentines Day. Be kind and loving to each other.

Hi Jackie! As a small town Michigander, I enjoy reading your Madison Creek small town Novellas with our unpredictable weather, family owned stores, and interaction with ‘real’ characters facing life challenges head on. I enjoy celebrating Valentine’s Day and reading Valentine romances. Our four year old granddaughter and I are making Valentine’s for her perschool classmates. Best wishes and Happy Valentine’s Day.

Jackie, the book looks great. And I want to also complement you on that graphic–it’s so pretty! How did you make it, or did you?
I really appreciate your writing about tough topics.

Great video, and loved the reviews for the book that you shared! Sounds like it will be a fun read! Seeing friends or family struggle definitely changes something in us, showing us how precious life is, and renews the hope of being with Jesus where there will be no more struggle or tears.

I really liked the video for your book. I’m not very familiar with those so it was neat to see.

Thank you Lee,
It started with the balloons and I added things from there. I enjoy making memes and book covers.

Amen Becky,
that knowing they were going to see Jesus soon is what helped me accept the parting of ways. For now. I’ll see them again. =)
But yes, indeed, it has shown me that we need to make the most of every opportunity, every day we’re given.
Jackie Castle says
Glad you enjoy it. I have a lot of fun putting them together. =)

Great post, Jackie! Love that meme and the video. Are the memes hard to do? Is there a program that you use? That’s one of the things I need to learn how to do. Thanks for sharing about your new book. Hope you have a great Valentine’s Day as well!

I use photoshop and canva. Canva makes it easier for someone who doesn’t have photoshop skills.
I’ve watched training videos on how to put them together, so for me, no, they’re not hard. lol. But for someone who is just starting out, they might seem a little daunting. That’s why I love Canva, it gives you the resources you need to put together a nice ad for your book.
Jackie Castle says
Thank you, same to you.

Thanks!
