February is almost over. It is a short month with a lot packed into it. When you think of February, what do you think of?
The shortest month of the year?
Ground Hog’s Day?
Valentine’s Day?
Black History Month or Presidents’ Day?
Maybe this year you’re thinking it’s just the coldest, snowiest month of the year, and you wished it was over. February is a special month for me. One of my brothers and my brother-in-law have birthdays in February. My husband and I also got married in February. Here we are on our wedding day.
We often associate the month of February with love, but love knows no bounds. We can celebrate it any time of year. A surprise gift or celebration can mean more than something we get because it was expected. What is the most unexpected and romantic gift you have received?
“Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.” Proverbs 3:3 NIV
When I think of February, I think of the Winter Olympics, the fact that my birthday is six months away, and spring break (since it’s right around the corner). I also know that my job as a tutor gets more intense this time of year, as our state tests begin in sometime in late March or early April. Maybe that’s why spring break pops into my mind… because I know I’ll need a mental break by then!
Blessings,
Andrea
Andrea, it’s interesting that you get busier as a tutor in February. I do think sometimes February is a month people would like to skip in order to get to spring.
February is a really busy month in my family. 2 of my 3 granddaughters have February birthdays, as do both my son and son-in-law. It’s always a bit of a blur!
February is a transitional month to me as we move from the promise of a New Year to spring. And I, too, think of spring break…right around the corner:) Not long before our first trek to the beach, also. The South is warming up:)
Valerie, that is a lot of February birthdays in a short month.
When we lived in the northeast, I could hardly wait for spring break to get to the beach.
Indeed. For a family of 9, having 4 in ANY month is quite a concentration.
You’re probably right about why they’d want to skip February. Surprisingly, last week felt like spring here in north Texas. We had a couple of days hovering around 70 degrees. This week, we’ve been knocked back into winter, though not quite as cold as a few weeks ago when we got lots of ice.
Merrillee, February is back to school in Australia after the Christmas summer holidays break. Always a very busy month for me :)
Narelle, it is easy to forget that the folks in the southern hemisphere are having summer now, especially when so many people here in the US are up to their eyeballs in snow. :)
