Hello, All! Summer time is finally here! Many of us may be doing some traveling, rather in a car or on a plane. Some of us may be lounging on the beach or just hanging out around our homes in a hammock :) Whichever the case may be, we all would like to fill our Kindles (or whatever reading device you use) with a few great books for our Summer reads.
Well, do I have a great one for you to add to your list. MIRROR, MIRROR (The Grace Series Book 1) by Staci Stallings.
Book description:
California golden girl, Sage Wentworth’s life looks perfect from the outside looking in. She’s got money, friends, and all the social status a girl could want. But underneath the glitz and glamour, Sage’s perfect existence holds many dark secrets—secrets even she herself doesn’t know. When she is unceremoniously sent to live with her biological father’s family in North Carolina for the summer, Sage finds herself swimming in very unfamiliar waters with seemingly friendly sharks poised to eat her alive on every side. Can Sage navigate these treacherous waters long enough to get back home, or has life for this golden girl changed forever?
Luke Baker has always considered himself a slacker of the first order. He’s not particularly athletic, musical, talented or intelligent. In fact, his “talents” such as they are run more in the vein of helping people when they most need it, and right now, that talent is much-needed by his best friend, Jaycee Lawrence who is facing the arrival of the stepsister she had gladly forgotten ever existed. A whole summer trying to talk Jaycee down off the ledge while simultaneously fighting like mad not to fall for her gorgeous, unattainable older sister? Yeah, this should be fun…

I love reading a book that I can get lost in and quickly fall in love with the characters. I’m doing just that in this one. I’m in the middle of reading Mirror, Mirror myself and I’m enjoying it so very much. That’s why I had to share it with all of you. It’s such an emotional, thought-provoking, and heart-touching story. ***sigh***
Staci Stallings also has a story included in, Whispers of Love, along with some other amazing and talented authors. I’ve already added that one to my next-in-line MUST-READ list, too :)
Do you have a must-read Summer-reading list? If so, do you have one that you would like to recommend?
Thanks for the recommendation, Debra. I’ve got this book on my Kindle. After reading this post, I’ll have to move it up in my queue. As for my summer reading list…it’s never-ending. :)
Another book to add- my winter reading list just keeps growing, and I am not complaining!! Thanks for the recommendation.
I ALSO love reading a book that I can get lost in, quickly fall in love with the characters, are thought-provoking and teach me something new – culturally or a new insight or idea. Presently I am reading Whispers of Love boxed set. Though I usually read from the beginning, this time I started with Marion Ueckermann’s story and now I am reading Valerie Comer’s Secrets of Sunbeams. I am enjoying learning more about urban farming and Pansy the goat. Can’t wait to read all 12 stories. The stories are keeping me warm, since this morning it is 48 degrees – one of the coldest June mornings on record.
Thanks for sharing. I am not sure I have this book but from what I have read, it sounds very interesting. I’ll be sure to get a copy to add to my list. I want to know if Jaycee feels betrayed by Luke because a he’s falling for her sister…. Mmmm
You’re very welcome, Jill! This one is definitely worth moving up to the top of your list :)
You’re very welcome! I see your Summer reading list must be full, and now you’re adding to your Winter reading list. Read on, Wemble, read on! :)
Thanks, Renate! I’m honored you moved Secrets of Sunbeams early in your WoL reading queue. :)
This sounds like a fun Young Adult romance :)
Good morning, Renate! I also have the Whispers of Love boxed set, and I can’t wait to get started on it. So many wonderful authors in one place, it’s going to be a GREAT read! It’s next on my list after I finish Mirror, Mirror. 48 degrees, brrr! I’m at the opposite end of that, at 8:45 in the morning, it’s already 81 degrees. Somewhere in the middle would be perfect for both of us, wouldn’t it? I hope you stay warm and enjoy reading Whispers of Love.
Good morning, Colleen! You’ll have to read it to find out ;) ;) I know you’ll enjoy reading about their journey, I certainly am!
Good morning, Valerie! It really is :) I am enjoying it immensely! Also, congratulations on Whispers of Love, I know this boxed set is going to be a great one! I can’t wait to start reading it!
Thank you for sharing the story! I’ve started Whispers of Love boxset yesterday and that will take a big chunk of time (I mean, 12 books, right?). I’m also trying read previous books when it’s a series (i.e., Kimberly Rae Jordan, Autumn MacArthur, and JoAnn Durgin’s stories, for example—at least the ones I haven’t read yet), so I’ve started and can see it will be a long road to go.
Hey, Priscila! Yes, it does sound like you have a long road of great stories just waiting on you :) You already have your Summer reading list filled to the max and then some, don’t you? :) Happy reading!
I never have a reading list. I just hope I can find time to read. That usually happens on airplane trips. We did a car trip recently, but I couldn’t read in the car because we were going over some very curvy roads. My stomach can’t handle that, and I had to take my turn at driving. Too many books, so little time.
Hey, Merrilee! I can’t ride in a car and read a book at the same time either, it gets to my stomach every time. However, I do listen to my books on my Kindle while I’m driving. I just plug it into my radio, and I’m all set to go! So, I really look forward to long road trips. :-)
