May is a big month for me. During the first few years of writing, it seemed I was on a yearly publishing calendar for the month of May. My first book Holding on to Someday was released on May 8, my second book A Half Made Whole, released the next year on May 9, and my third book When I Found You released the following year on May 14. I finally changed my publishing pattern in my third year when I released two books in one year. That was certainly an accomplishment for me since I work full-time and have a busy schedule. While I would love to be the author that releases multiple books a year, I finally had to realize I’m not that girl. However, I keep reminding myself: baby steps.
It was never my intention to publish a book–ever. So the fact that I’ve published six books still kind of blows my mind. People who know me and my hectic schedule ask me all the time “how do you have time to write?” And my answer is always this: I have no idea. I just write when I can find the time. And that’s probably why I don’t publish more than two books a year.
To add to the May celebrations, I announced this month the first book in the new series I’ve started. The Thing About Falling in Love is book one in the It’s A Love Thing series.
Some would say I grew up with a silver spoon in my mouth, but I know the truth: I’ve worked hard for everything I have. However, love has always taken a back seat to my entrepreneurial pursuits.
Until Brynn.
From the moment I walked into her family’s restaurant, I knew she was…different. When fate brings us together once again through my new business endeavor, I’m certain God placed her in my path for a reason.
I never expected to fall in love this fast. The attraction we share is undeniable, but the matters of the heart are more important when it comes to the future I’m looking for.
Will she let me lead her down the path I know she’s destined for, or will she run in the opposite direction?
In addition to my May book birthdays, we celebrated Mother’s Day, my second son graduated from college last week, and my oldest son turns 22 at the end of the month. Whew!
To celebrate all May things happening in my life, I’d like to give away an ebook copy of each book having a birthday this month. All you need to do to enter is comment with your favorite way to celebrate special events. I’ll pick 3 winners to receive one ebook of Holding on to Someday, A Half Made Whole or When I Found You.
Our special celebrations always involve a family get together, even if it means some members have to travel a thousand miles. For our 50th wedding anniversary this year we have booked for ourselves and our children, all with their own families, to stay for a weekend at a game reserve – one of our favourite activities and because we live in South Africa, there are plenty to choose from!
Our favorite way to celebrate is with our family and a nice dinner. If it is a birthday we let the person pick what they want for dinner.
I like celebrating with family, but getting together with friends is good too.

Simply with the family talking and eating something delicious.
We do this as well, always letting the birthday person pick the place we eat. One year when our youngest son was little he picked Arby’s as his place to eat…lol! And when we got there they had ran out of roast beef.
Celebrations are always best when shared with people you enjoy being around :)
I love cake!
Yes! Food and family make a great combo.
Last year I celebrated my birthday with my very first surprise party! A friend and I had decided to go to lunch, and she invited other friends to join us. This year, I’ve decided to throw myself a party since it’s my 60th.
Oh wow! What a wonderful celebration. Congratulations on 50 years. That’s amazing.
I’ve never been a fan of surprise parties–just because I like to plan and know what’s going on–but it’s always nice to celebrate with friends.
I like getting to get her with family and friends for celebrations. My birthday was Monday so I had all the neighbors children over so they could do a pinata and sing .
Happy Birthday!
Congratulations!!!
I prefer family gatherings to celebrate – as long as we are together :)
Being with family is the best!
I enjoy going out for a nice meal to celebrate accomplishments. Or even taking a day to spend with someone I love is good too!

We usually celebrate by eating out(prior to Covid) or picking up dinner from Longhorn. It is just my husband and I. We are both disabled so it limits our options. Thanks for sharing. Happy celebration month. God bless you.
Congrats!! We’re celebrating our 15th Anniversary & over 20 years together this summer. We plan to do family photos & a special little get away & stay at a motel or camping. It’ll remind us how we met as kids.
We usually have a special dinner take-out or a eat in depending on the place we go. We like to go on a walk to make it a special day & even a swim.
Both are wonderful ways to celebrate!
I like cake.
My parents always pick Longhorn to celebrate special occasions too!
Happy Anniversary! I hope you enjoy your get away!
Celebrating with someone special is always great!
I like celebrating with my family and having a special meal (good food and cake). :)
My favorite way to celebrate special events is to spend time with loved ones, of course! Birthdays, anniversaries, and etc are always better & brighter with those special people God gave me. What better way then to be surrounded by “my tribe”? :-)
I love celebrating with my family whatever that means for the event
Good food and sweet treats are the way to my heart!
Absolutely! I agree :)
Me too!
