Have you have had a season in your life when it felt like everything moved at the speed of light and if you didn’t move along with it you’d get left behind? Well, I’m not to that extreme, but I feel like I’ve been riding a roller coaster that hasn’t stopped since November. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it sure is tiring!
I recall back in January when everyone was talking about making a New Years Resolution. I don’t make them, but I did set some professional goals for myself. I had in mind what I wanted to accomplish, but my plans changed as new opportunities presented themselves. Consequently I’ve written and released different books than I had planned.
I didn’t ever expect to release Brewed with Love outside the collection, Love in Mistletoe Springs, that it was written for, but guess what, I did. I think this year’s theme for my life should be expect the unexpected.
I think my characters in Brewed with Love would probably say expect the unexpected would fit their lives as well. Here’s the back cover blurb.
Will fear hold them back, or will love reign?
Annika returns to Mistletoe Springs, her childhood summer home, where life was always a little brighter. Without her beloved aunt and the pressure of running a failing coffee shop, her dream of continuing the success of her aunt’s business fades. And why do the town’s people seem to have something against her?
Bryan, a local firefighter and hobby musician, needs a place for his band to practice. Main Street Java is his last hope. He remembers his former crush—the new shop owner—as a shy, sweet girl, but rumor says she’s anti-music. Could the rumors be true? She seemed to enjoy Open Mic Night when she was a teenager. Has she really changed that much?
Can Annika open her heart to the unexpected, or will she turn her back on the one man who makes her remember why she loved Mistletoe Springs so long ago?

Do you ever feel like your life should have a theme? What would be your theme for this year?
Wemble says
HI Kimberly:) Looking forward to reading your new story. Life has certainly felt that it is moving faster since my youngest son started school and I returned to full time work. Being busy makes time feel faster I think. No particular theme comes to mind, other than God’s continual grace!
Blessings:)

A theme, mmm I guess mine would be “stay focus and Let go and let God”. I get caught up and stressed over things that doesn’t matter and that alone makes me waste a lot of precious time.

Theme for this year: expectation. It seems every week something different is happening. I’ve come to expect something lol. Can’t wait to read Brewed with Love!
Renate says
Hi Kimberly! Most of my life’s theme has been expect the unexpected. While it is good to have plans and make goals, life has a way of changing things. Sometimes for the better. While it was unfortunate that my daughter-in-law broke her wrist while volunteering at her son’s end of school fun day and she is home from work, this retired grandma is having a easy summer. Normally I would be watching four grandkids, now I watch one. Enjoying the break before my daughter-in-law returns to work. So I roll with life and expect the unexpected.
I enjoyed reading your inspirational romance Brewed with Love in Love in Mistletoe Springs. Hope you enjoy the unexpected moments this summer. Best wishes and Happy Writing.

Our family theme is “It’s Always a Story with the Henderson’s”. I put that on my blog, too. We seem to enjoy lots of funny happenings in our family. :-) Brewed With Love is a wonderful story. I love reading stories by Kimberly Rose Johnson.

I love your family theme, Melissa.:)

I think that theme fits life well, Renate.:) I’m sorry your DIL broke her wrist. My youngest did that once. I hope she recovers well. Enjoy your unexpected easy summer!
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
I like that, Sally. I can certainly relate! I hope you enjoy the story.

Colleen, you have a great theme! I need to remember it.

I don’t know about a theme but my word for this year is ENCOURAGE and that seems to be what God has given me to do. I am recently retired( 2 yrs) and I expected to be able to craft, sew etc. and read, too — but I got on Facebook in March and it’s fun catching up with old friends and aquaintences. Then our son and his wife and two small boys decided to build a new house way out in the woods. So we have been helping to cut down trees and haul brush. That’s a lot for our old bodies to do! Besides it was hot yesterday! Really wiped us out! Those eight and four year olds really work! They cut small branches off trees and pick up logs and stack for firewood! Things change but I enjoy helping the boys make memories of helping to build their house! I can craft in the winter. I’ve already done lots for our Church Bazaar. Potholders, aprons, plastic bag holders stuffed animals and pincushions for gifts for my friends.Blessings to you – I’m still working on my TBR pile!

Loved this book! My theme for this year would be new beginnings. My husband is retiring from a job with long, long hours, and lots of stress. We have such a peace, and are really looking forward to this new chapter of our lives. Although I may not read as many books as I have in the past, I’m looking forward to having him home.
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
Wow, Paula, you are amazing. I love the variety in your life! Encouragement is wonderful.
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
That is definitely a season of new beginnings, Becky. I’m sure he will enjoy the peace and not miss his stressful job one bit. :) I’m glad you enjoyed this book. :)

I enjoyed the Mistletoe Springs collection and your novella’s part in it when it first released. Now you can attract a whole new round of readers!

Love it, Valerie!

Our theme this year is moving! We moved out of our home and into storage and our daughters guest bedroom. In several more weeks we’ll move into our new home. Three weeks ago we moved our daughter and son in law into storage and our son’s apartment. Today we’re moving our son, daughter and son in law into the house our son just bought. It’s a large house with plenty of room and floors for all of them. We’re getting good at packing boxes ?!
Trixi says
Mine is pretty much the same as yours; expect the unexpected! I know God knows what will happen next, so I have to trust Him in it :-)
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
Yikes! I’m glad you graduated, Jackie.
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
Wow that is a lot of moving. It sounds like you have a good attitude. Moving is one of my least favorite things to do–too much work.
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
I love you comment about trusting Him, Trixi. Thank you.
Priscila says
I never thought about a theme but then this sounds like the “word for the year” that many authors here talked about. Mine for this year is surrender and I still think it fits me pretty well.
Sabrina Templin says
My theme so far for this year would be the word Change change change…lol
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
I’m not a fan of change, but sometimes it’s a good thing. I hope yours is.
Jessica B. says
My theme for this year should be definitely be “Change”, which is often a struggle for me.
