There’s a new doctor in town, and Chapel Cove is growing. So is Choose Me, book 4 in the Chapel Cove romances. When I first started writing this story way too many weeks ago for my liking, I wondered if I’d manage to get a 35K novella out of my ideas.
Well, my characters had totally different plans. I’m pushing hard toward the end (I have to! — the book releases soon), and have already written 20,000 words more than I’d anticipated. Of course, it’s fantastic for readers and wonderful for my Kindle Unlimited page reads; what it’s not good for is my well-laid plans and schedules.
Oh well, back to the drawing board — postpone this book, shift that one next, write this story then… More and more I’m realizing that I may need to start planning one or two fewer releases each year, because my books are definitely getting lengthier. But, they are as long as they must be, so I’ll just keep on writing, keep on adjusting my plans, until the story is told.
Despite Choose Me taking several weeks more to write than anticipated (I’ve already shifted the release date twice on my schedule), I’m excited about this book, and I know lots of readers are too. I hope you also won’t be able to wait for Choose Me’s release after you’ve watched the book trailer or read the blurb.
Choose Me is available now on pre-order for 99c and is currently scheduled for release on August 14th. I do hope to release a little sooner though.
The one thing he wants most in the world, she can’t give him.
Her heart broken at the altar, real estate agent Julia Delpont moves south to Chapel Cove, away from the humiliation, the gossip, the stares. At least in this small town, nobody knew her story. And she had every intention of keeping it that way. No man would ever break her heart again.
After three years as an army surgeon in war-torn Afghanistan, Dr. Hudson Brock avoids the ER, choosing instead to perform scheduled surgeries at a top Dallas hospital. But neither extreme in his career has offered Hudson what he really wants—a wife and family to come home to at night. Maybe in the sleepy hollow town he’d grown up in he would find what he was looking for.
Once back in Chapel Cove, Hudson tries to find the perfect house. He suspects that finding the perfect woman will take far longer.
When Julia Delpont literally stumbles into Hudson’s life, he knows he’s the one who has fallen harder. But Julia is afraid to open her heart again. Especially to the handsome doctor whose deepest desires she cannot fill.
I will be giving away an e-copy of Choose Me to one randomly chosen commenter on this blog. Winner will be notified in the Sunday edition, August 11th 2019.
So excited about this next installment of Chapel Cove! The longer the better for me, I get so sad when a really great book is done?!
Thanks, Paula. Yes, it’s the same for us…we get sad to say goodbye to characters. At least in Chapel Cove we get to keep them around a little longer through each subsequent book, even though its in a lesser role :)
Hi Marion, I’m excited- looking forward to another Chapel Cove story, and certainly not complaining if it’s longer! Can’t wait to read Julia and Hudson’s story.
Blessings:)

Hi Marion! So enjoyed reading the background on the writing process for Julia and Hudson’s story. Enjoying your well written lengthier and researched Chapel Hill romance that once again touches contemporary issues and modern day lives. Best wishes on your upcoming release.

No really, if any of you all haven’t read this series, DO IT!!
I love seeing Oregon through these stories! I actually looked up where the lavender fields are and found out the “Oregon Lavender Farm” isn’t too far from where I live. Cool!
Marion, I love the graphics on this post! Nice!
LOL, I wonder why, Marylin :) I think the receptionist won your heart :) So glad that you enjoyed it. Hope you get to visit that lavender farm.
Hi I am waiting anxiously for this next installment, I have to agree I really like the longer books, like the extra details about the characters lives. Love the community feel of this type of books.

Hi Marion, Congratulations on your next Chapel Cove release. I did check that I had remembered to pre-order this one, lol. The book trailer is fabulous – well done! :)
Thanks so much, Narelle. Just hit publish on Choose Me. Unfortunately, as it was on preorder, somehow KDP didn’t want to allow me to publish now, so I requested an earlier date so I’m hoping it’ll publish on Saturday.
Congratulations on your release Love the cover!
Thank you, Sarah. I love this cover too :)
