I love revisiting my stories. Each time I go back and read one of my books, I fall in love with the characters all over again. It’s been a while since I’ve done a character interview, so today, I want to introduce you to Chase and Cait from When I Found You, book two, in my Finding Home series. These two are some of my favorite characters with their fun personalities.
Author: Welcome, Chase and Cait. Introduce yourselves!
Chase: I’m Chase Richards. I’m a marketing executive, and we live in Atlanta, Georgia.
Cait: And I’m Cait Houston Richards…
Chase interrupts: Georgia Cait. (He winks at her)
Author: Why did you correct her name?
Chase: Her real name is Georgia Cait.
Cait: It’s our thing. You’ll learn all about it in the book.
Author: Cait, you’re from somewhere other than Atlanta, right?
Cait: Yes. I’m from a tiny little farming town in North Florida.
Author: So how did you end up in Atlanta?
Cait: I’m also in marketing and came here for a temporary assignment. I thought I wanted to live in the big city, but I was ready to go back home once I got here.
Chase: Until she met me.
Cait: He’s not wrong.
Author: You had a meet cute the first time you met. I love this story, so tell us what happened.
Chase: I was on my way to a cooking class when I stopped at a light and saw this beautiful young woman stranded on the side of the road. I felt this strong pull to stop and help her.
Author: So the stranded woman was Cait.
Chase and Cait: Yes.
Cait: At first, I was scared out of my mind that a man was walking up to my car.
Chase: It was written all over her face.
Cait: But he made me feel comfortable right away. I knew he was truly there to help me change the flat tire on my car.
Author: So that’s not the only meet cute you guys had. Tell us about the next time.
Chase: Turns out we were both headed to the same cooking class the day of the flat tire. We had no idea.
Cait: Until the next week when you walked in late.
Chase: I almost didn’t come.
Author: What did you think when you saw each other in class?
Chase: I didn’t see her until the end of class because I was at the front and she was sitting at the back.
Cait: And I had to sit there the whole time trying to decide if I wanted to talk to him or not.
Chase: I’m glad she did, but I would have spotted her regardless. (He winks again, and Cait blushes)
Author: So after that night, you decided to meet up again.
Cait: We hit it off right away. I had never felt so at ease with a complete stranger. As much as I didn’t like Atlanta, Chase made it much more bearable.
Chase: The connection we shared from the start was undeniable. Plus, she appreciated my humor.
Cait: Well, appreciate is a stretch, but it was one of the things that attracted me to you. You were just fun to be around.
Author: So Chase, you moved to Atlanta a while back. I know you were part of the story A Half Made Whole, the first book in the Finding Home series. What’s your connection there?
Chase: Leighton, from A Half Made Whole, is one of my best friends from college. She went through a lot after graduation, so I moved here to be closer to her and her daughter. You’ll have to read her story to find out all the details.
Author: A Half Made Whole is my favorite story.
Cait: Leighton has become one of my closest friends as well. Her family and other characters from the first book and the prequel are part of our story as well.
Author: Cait, you’re sister appears in this story too.
Cait: Yes, Piper is my little sister. She kept me sane in Atlanta until I met Chase. You’ll meet her in another story in this series–One She Never Expected.
Author: I don’t want to give too much away about this book, so readers, you’ll have to pick it up to see how their story unfolds. Thank you, Chase and Cait, for sharing a little about yourselves with the lovely readers of Inspy Romance.

My favorite memory is finding out on Valentine’s day we were getting a cute, black poodle. He was our little sweetheart because he was born on Valentine’s day. It was so hard to wait until March to take him home!

Puppies are the sweetest. What a wonderful Valentine’s Day gift!

My mom helping me bake a cake in order to celebrate the day and share it with the family. :)

I don’t have a favorite valentine memory but before my grandma passed away she would make valentine candy bags and a toy in them for all her grandchildren that were in the neighborhood now that she is gone we don’t do that as m grandpa is 95 but the kids in the neighborhood sometimes make valentine crafts. This year we had a white valentine day so the kids had no school.

I don’t really have a favorite Valentine memory. One memory I do have, is I was my chiropractor’s office and he asked what I was doing for Valentine’s Day, and I told him I was taking my parents out for dinner. He then went to his daughter, and told her that I was taking my parents out for dinner. You should have seen the look she gave me! She was NOT happy to hear that! I guess she expected her parents to do for her, but she didn’t do for them.

I always enjoyed Valentine’s Day when I wad a kid. My mom would give us special treats and we’d get to go do something special too, like go to a movie. It was fun.

I love interview posts, they’re always really fun!
Not necessarily favourite in a good way, but one Valentines that stands out – my now husband and I hadn’t been together that long, and I decided to cook us dinner rather than going out for a meal in a crowded restaurant. For some reason I decided to try to make Chinese food including making spring rolls, which it turns out are quite hard to make and were a complete disaster, and coconut ice cream, which froze so solid you couldn’t get a spoon in even after leaving it to melt. Bless him, he did his best to eat his way through it, but it really wasn’t the romantic night I’d hoped for, though we did laugh a lot!

I loved When I Found You! It was such a sweet book!

My husband and I went out to dinner and couldn’t figure out why the restaurant was so crowded only to find out that it was Valentine’s Day! Obviously, we don’t celebrate the day. He shows me his love every day with all of the little things he does. ❤
Bonnie says
Instead of giving you a dirty look, she should have looked at her dad and told him “That is a great idea. When we get off, I’m going to take you and mom out.” That would probably have been the best Valentine’s Day gift for them.
Bonnie says
I don’t really have a favorite Valentine’s Day memory. My husband would get me flowers any time through the year, including Valentine’s Day.
Kathy Blair says
I can’t think of a specific memory, but I love chocolate and my husband always delivers on Valentine’s Day.
Melynda says
I don’t really have any valentines memories that stand out, but I love getting something little for my kids and having a special dinner with the whole family. I also love how thankful my kids are for the simple gifts.

That’s definitely the way it should be!

That’s so sweet! What a wonderful memory.
K Leah says
Haha! I can imagine that was awkward.
K Leah says
That sounds a lot like what I did with my kids. Love it!
K Leah says
The intentions were there, and that’s what counts!
K Leah says
Thank you! 🥰

That’s sweet that you both celebrate every day. We went out for dinner on Valentin’s Day and the wait was an hour & half at 5 pm!
Debra Pruss says
Thank you so much for sharing. I cannot think of a specific memory that made Valentine’s Day special. As a child, we would have parties in school, where Mother’s Club and Room Mother’s would bring in treats for the holidays. We would make decorated shoe boxes and give everyone in the class a Valentine. God bless you.

giving cards to friends
Ausjenny says
I am late blame the weather. (Its been hot and this week will be a scorcher.) Valentines day wasn’t really big here growing up. in fact it’s really started to take off late 80’s and even then it wasn’t much the past 25 its grown in popularity. I sent my first card in 1988 and a second one a few years later and that would be the only ones I have ever sent. From a guy I have only ever received one. From Penpals I have received several over the years. Years back a friend sent me a stuffed skunk that has a red rose and plays just want to be loved by you.
I do remember in 2012 I was in Hawaii the end of Jan, early Feb and was surprised by all the Valentines stuff in the shops. I will admit I did stock up on peeps! (In Australia I can not buy peeps. I love peeps so I got to have my fix while there).
