So, if you’re paying attention to the Sunday Editions, you might have noticed that we had a Blab at the start of May. And we have another one coming up at the start of June. In fact, we’re planning to bring a Blab right to your computer or phone every month!
What is a Blab, you might ask? The simple answer is that Blab provides a way for the authors of InspyRomance to chat with you in real time. And, as a bonus, you get to see us live and in person! (But fret not, you don’t have to have a camera. You interact with us through chat.) Think of it kind of like an interactive podcast.
Why are we doing this? Primarily because we wanted to create another way to interact with and get to know you, our reader. And as much fun as it is to read someone’s blog post, it’s even more fun to see and hear them. (For example, in our May blab, I had a lot of fun listening to Ginger Solomon talk. She’s from the South and while she doesn’t have a huge southern accent, there’s enough of one to be a lovely reminder of the years I spent living in Georgia. Maybe if we can swing it we’ll be able to manage time zones well enough down the road to hear from some of our overseas ladies as well. I’m hopeful that will happen down the road.)
And you know what else? There’ll be prizes. Authors who join me on a Blab will be giving away an e-copy of the book they’re introducing. So you definitely want to mark your calendars and swing by!
I’m going to be the hostess for these Blabs (and really, just saying blab over and over in my head as I’m writing this post…it’s a seriously weird word. Don’t let that throw you off!) Hopefully there’ll be a handful of authors who pop in to join me and talk about their new releases. But even if no one else is available, I’ll be there each month to run down the news and new releases from InspyRomance.
You can sign up for our June blab. Then you get a handy reminder email when it’s about to start. And keep your eye on the Sunday Editions for links to future blabs. What do you think, will you come blab with us? I hope to see you there!

Would love to Blab- I agree, what a strange word, unfortunately time zones do not work in my favour. Hard to believe May is nearly over already…!! Have a great week.
Rachelle says
I’m all for blabbing! :) I am all signed up! Thanks! Have a great week! :)
Elizabeth Maddrey says
I’m sorry the timezones are a problem! Can you tell me what might work? There’s no reason we can’t investigate moving it around occasionally!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Yay! Hope to see you there. :)
Colleen says
What an interest word. How did you come up with that word BLAB. Maybe i had missed the post that tells what it stands for. Anyway, I signed up because it’s sounds fun and interesting.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
I’m not sure why the folks who run the software chose the word blab. I’m guessing it’s a take on blabber — talking on and on. Happy to have you join us!

I wanted to join the May blab, but the date/time just didn´t work for me last time.
A few questions I wasn´t able to get from the last few posts: Can I sign in even if I´m running late? How long are they suppose to last? Can I sign in from any type of device?
Sorry about so many questions, just trying to see how I can make this work for me to attend/listen. Also, are they recorded? Any chance I can listen the next day?
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Those are great questions! YES you can join in whenever you’re free, if you miss the beginning, it’s no biggie. (You can also leave if you need to before we finish.)
Our first Blab lasted about 30 minutes. I’m guessing they’ll all be about that length.
Yes! They’re recorded. We post the recording link in the Sunday edition after its occurred (so the May blab link can actually be found in yesterday’s post from Valerie.)
And also yes! Any device that can hit the Internet can sign in to Blab.
Valerie Comer says
I’m sorry I won’t be able to attend the June Blab, but I’ll be sitting on a beach. I hate to admit it, but I probably won’t be thinking of you guys either… oops…
Elizabeth Maddrey says
All right…we see how it is ;)
Renate says
Sorry. Maybe I am old fashioned but I prefer print to video, so I can skim and read what I want. After watching my 2.5 year old granddaughter for 10+ hours per day Monday through Thursday I am exhausted. Not a young mom any more. Plus she BLABs every waking moment. Why? Why? Why? She is very vocal and converses on all topics my husband and I discuss. Afternoon nap time and one hour of silence. Hooray! So no BLAB for me.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Well, we’ll miss you but we also understand.
Wemble says
Hmm not sure, I know that when I wrote my first comment it was about 8pm AEST. As I write this reply it is 7am, and not will be off to work soon. Thanks for posting the conversation afterwards.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Hmm. That might be harder to figure. But definitely check out the replay!

I’d love to “blab” sometime, but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to do the next one. Lots of things going on right now, but I’m certainly interested for future ones. Thanks for being willing to connect with your readers this way!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
If June doesn’t work out, we’ll hope to see you in July!
Trixi says
Is there a way to participate without having to sign into twitter or Facebook? And what is the time/date for the June Blab?
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Hi Trixi — it looks like you have to use either Facebook or Twitter to sign in, sorry. We’re going to be doing the first Tuesday of each month, so June will be June 7th at 8:30 p.m. Eastern.

LOL, Renate, I feel you! I remember when my daughter was at the “blab” age. You couldn’t have paid me to listen to more blabber at the end of the day.
Trixi says
Thank you Elizabeth! I’m not sure that time frame will work as I am Pacific time (3hrs behind) to participate live. But I can check it out when I have opportunity afterwards if it’s still up the following day or so. And I was hoping not to have sign in from either place, but it’s no biggie I guess :-)
Sounds like a fun way to meet the authors here in Inspy Romance!
