As this blog post is my grand finale on InspyRomance, it seems fitting to reveal the cover for the third book in my Love Off Script series, Fiancé Finale. This baby doesn’t release until October, so if you haven’t read the first two books yet, you have time to catch up.
The romantic comedies follow three quirky roommates who met during film school and are pursuing their dreams to differing degrees of success. Book one, Husband Auditions, finaled in the Christy Awards, and book two, Hero Debut, won a Top Shelf Award for best cover and was just announced as a finalist in the Indies. So seriously, you don’t want to miss them.
But book three… Oh, book three.
Let me preface with the fact that I’m teaching a class at next month’s IdaHope Christian Writer’s conference on how to kiss the formula goodbye. I like to do things that aren’t normally done in genre fiction. With Fiancé Finale, you’re going to meet a “hero” like no other. In fact, my editor and a critique partner both asked if Charlie is on the spectrum.
I didn’t create Charlie to have autism, but I patterned him after a real-life person who could very well be undiagnosed. My editor described Charlie as “blunt, literal, clueless.” Yeah, he’s got a lot to learn, but he’s also extremely successful and has a pure heart. Which might be what makes him oh so entertaining.
But you don’t have to take my word for it. Here’s the back cover copy:
Charlie Newberg is sure about one thing: he knows the woman God wants him to marry. There’s a slight problem, though—he’s already left her once. The day before their wedding. To make a documentary. But he’s got a plan. The marketing firm she works for is the ideal choice to promote his new film. So he conspires with her boss to make sure she runs the campaign. Working together will give him the perfect chance to propose again.
Due to her own plot twist, Nicole Lemaire is forced to promote the very documentaries Charlie left her to film. Despite Nicole’s resistance, the two make a good team. But it’s going to take more than teamwork to convince the jilted bride to give Charlie a second chance. In fact, it might require falling in love in a way Charlie’s never really understood before.
Angela Ruth Strong closes out her hilarious, heartfelt series with a couple who will give readers a lot of laughs along with the hope that God sees and redeems even the most broken stories.
It’s been a great run. Both with this series and on InspyRomance. I hope you’ll accompany me on many more adventures, because as always, I’m just getting started. Join my…
