Here in the United States we are getting ready for our Thanksgiving. Tomorrow is the big day. It is a time for family get togethers and good food. It is a time to reflect on God’s blessings, but it is good to remember God’s blessings every day. As the verse above reminds us, we should “give thanks in all circumstances.” Sometimes that can be hard when things aren’t going well, but we should remember that God is in charge and we can count on Him to make all things good in time.
Often my characters may wonder how their circumstances can bring them joy when they are in the middle of troublesome times. Since I’m a “seat of the pants” writer, I often wonder that myself. After I finish a book, I look back over the story. I am amazed how God can bring my story together, when I didn’t realize something I wrote at the beginning is something that ties into the end.
This year I’m grateful for having my three brothers with me for Thanksgiving. They came for a football game between Washington State University and the University of Arizona. Two of them graduated from Washington State, so we were cheering for the Cougars. Since the game was so close to Thanksgiving, I said they should stay for the holiday. They all agreed. It is a rare occasion for all four of us to be together at the same time. Here’s a photo I took during the game.
What are you thankful any time of year? I will give away an ebook copy of my book, A Family to Call Ours, to one person who leaves a comment. I will draw the winning name on November 25, 2022 at 9PM MST.
“Void where prohibited; the odds of winning depend on the number of entrants. Entering the giveaway is considered a confirmation of eligibility on behalf of the enterer in accord with these rules and any pertaining local/federal/international laws.”

Health and family and especially celebrating fifty years of marriage when thirty years ago, it didn’t look like I would live to see my children grow to adulthood. God promised to restore the years that the locusts had eaten and He has been more than faithful.

I’m thankful for all God has done for me. Honestly, without Him, I’d be a basket case by now, with things that have happened since Mom’s passing almost two years ago. I’m also thankful that He got me through my first two hurricanes by myself this year, and I could even sleep through parts of them!!

My family and friends. Also that my 95 year old grandpa is still alive and still doing pretty good but he needs 24 hour care but we don’t think he has too much longer but we never thought he would live over 2 years after my grandma passed away suddenly on March 24 2020 from a fall we always thought my grandpa would die first.I stay every Sunday night with my grandpa so I want to be with him until he dies cause I was very close to my grandma I would go to her house about every day and build puzzles with her. The last few years we didn’t really get together for Thanksgiving because of the pandemic so this year we went to south Dakota to see my sister and her family.

Hi Kim,
So glad you are able to find affordable housing. The price of housing is getting crazy in some areas.
