Hey there, friends!
I hope you had a great weekend. I spent time reading and relaxing with the family. Covid life has helped me get to many books on my TBR pile. Of course, I keep adding books but that’s the avid reader life, right? :)
Today I wanted to share a book recommendation with you. It’s Molly by Sarah Monzon, the first book in her Sewing in SoCal series.
About the Book
If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I absolutely refuse to tell a lie no matter the consequences. So don’t ask me a direct question unless you’re prepared for a direct answer—that’s something my SoCal sewing girlfriends have learned the hard way.
But who would have thought my honesty policy would get me fired from my job at the preschool? Or that a desperate—and not to mention devastatingly handsome—single father of one of my (now-former) students would hire me that same day as a nanny for his daughter?
I’m an education professional. How hard can taking care of a four-year-old and her over-stressed, over-worked father be?
My Thoughts
Y’all, Sarah Monzon has crafted a laugh-out-loud, swoon-enticing read! I had the distinct pleasure of reading Molly has a rough draft because I’m Sarah’s critique partner. However, I loved it so much I got my own copy in multiple forms. What can I say, I love a good book!
Molly, herself, is witty, brutally honest, and a loyal friend. All of those traits make for hilarity between her and her friends and her and the hero, Ben.
And speaking of Ben, he has to be one of the best heroes Sarah has created. The love he has for his daughter brings us some endearing moments and the grief he’s overcoming has you reaching for the tissues. But when he decides how he feels about Molly, be prepared to gracefully flop onto your swooning couches.
Since Molly is the first book in the Sewing in SoCal series, you get to meet the other girls in the group and I can guarantee, you won’t want to miss their stories either.
*I received a complimentary copy of this book. My review was not required nor influenced.

Giveaway
I almost forgot about the giveaway opportunity! If you comment by August 7, 3:00pm EDT, you will be entered for a chance to win an ebook copy of Molly or an audiobook. Good luck!
I’ve learnt that honest comments can be very difficult for some people to hear, though I try to be as tactful as I can, but I refuse to waste my time and other people’s any more. To me being honest to someone is a sign of respect.
I can definitely agree with that.
God bless you. I have always kept my opinions to my self not wanting to voice what was in my head for fear of making someone feel bad. But with age comes wisdom and I have learned how to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit and through Him have learned how to voice in a positive way what is in my head. Even though many times my thoughts or opinions are not politically correct I have learned that I must say what The Lord tells me to say and He takes care of the rest.
So true!
Molly sounds like a delightful book. Would love to read this book.
Good luck!

I love Sarah Monzon! Thank you for the chance to win! I think being honest is important as long as you do it nicely and not in a cruel way. Honesty is super important though.

Thanks for the recommendation! Definitely adding to my TBR list.
Hooray! My job here is done. :)
I love laugh-out-loud stories! Humor in a book really makes me smile and enjoy it so much more. I especially love witty banter between the hero and heroine, the sparks that creates is so much fun to watch :-)
My favorite part is discovering new-to-me authors that write funny stories and Sarah is one of them that I haven’t read anything by yet :-) Thank you for the chance to win a copy of “Molly”!
Good luck!
