Happy Thursday, guys!
I’m excited to be with you here today. My latest book baby is out in the world and bringing in some Christmas cheer. Her Christmas Redemption may not have the typical backdrop people think of when they think Christmas. You know big city girl moving to a small town world and saving the small-town business instead of tearing it down. However, it does have some similar aspects.
You see, my heroine Vivian Dupre has just been released from prison after being sentenced for driving while intoxicated. And it’s in prison that she finds Jesus and dedicates her life to serving Him. Vivian’s a little worried that the people of Willow Springs won’t embrace her if they know her history, so she’s determined to keep it a secret.
And we all know what happens with secrets . . .
The first day she arrives in the new town, she gets asked to work on the church’s Christmas Wishes project. A project that seeks to make Christmas dreams come true for those in need. I loved the idea behind this project and loved seeing Vivian and the hero, Michael Wood, experience the wonder of Christ during the season.
It’s my hope that you’ll enjoy my take of what the meaning behind Christmas is. Not that it’s new, but we don’t always read books about ex cons during the Christmas season. Yet, aren’t they the ones Jesus was born for? The very ones Jesus died for?
In Her Christmas Redemption, you’ll find
- tiny homes
- Buffalo National River setting
- Christmas presents
- Church play
- Brooding hero
- New Christian heroine
- Secondary characters to delight
- Christmas decorating
- Family
- And more!
I hope you get the opportunity to read this book. It released November 29th and can be found at your favorite retailer. Here’s what the back of the book says:
Can she find a second chance…
on a town’s holiday wish list?
Organizing her church’s Christmas Wishes program is the perfect start to Vivian Dupre’s new life—one without the shame of her recent mistakes. But as she grows closer to co-coordinator Michael Wood, she’s even more determined to keep her past hidden. Together they can give joy to their small town. But when Michael discovers her secret, will he be willing to grant Vivian’s holiday wish—forgiveness?
Now for the giveaway. I’ll be happy to give the reader their choice of a paperback (US only) or ebook (US or international) copy of Her Christmas Redemption. For a chance to win, please tell me your favorite CHristmas tradition in the comments. Comment by 12/11/22, 11:59pm EST and I’ll pick one random winner.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Until next year,
Toni
Ohh wow the book sounds interesting! I like a heroine who was in prison! I’m reading Christmas books recently and even though a light and fluffy Hallmark movie-like pair are cute I get enough of such perfection.
It may be weird but with so much horrible news on my TV I need to remember that God is in the midst of bad things and can redeem prisoners.
Christmas tradition! I like the dinner we have at my house! we dress up and we all sit down to dinner together, we have done it since i was little my mum’s brother and sister do it too i like it because it reminds me of regency or victorian people who would dress up for dinner.
My favorite tradition is having our Christmas eve buffet, going to church, and watching a movie together. My kids are now doing this with their families.
Driving around the neighborhood and looking at the lights.
It’s hard to pick just one tradition but I’d say it’s walking around our neighborhood a couple of nights before Christmas looking at the lights – even if we really have to bundle up.
That’s fun that y’all dress up!
That’s awesome they passed the tradition on.
Yes! I love doing that.
That sounds fun!
Hi Toni, happy Thursday to you too! The book sounds really good, what an interesting heroine.
I love going to carol services, it’s my favourite Christmas tradition, I have been to some by candlelight which were really special.
I like candlelight ones as well.
My favorite is putting out the Nativity. It’s really the only tradition from my childhood til now!
That’s awesome!
We open our gifts on Christmas Eve after a lovely dinner,
Large gatherings with lots of great food!
We open ours Christmas Eve as well.
Three cheers for food!
My church family always takes a night in December to go Christmas caroling around the neighborhood. It’s so fun to spend a couple hours singing to people, and they always look forward to us coming. :)
My grandpa always did a fish boil on Christmas Eve (cod, ionions, carrots, red potatoes and of course leefse.
That’s amazing!
Yum
The book sounds really good! We go to a candlelite service at church on Christmas Eve.
I always enjoy candlelight services.
It’s hard to pick out just one favorite Christmas tradition! A long standing one for me is making decorated sugar cookies – some to give away but most just to eat :-) My cousin and I used to spend hours decorating them in great detail. Another fun family tradition is making fudge and giving it to various friends.
My favorite of our traditions is that we decorate only with “real meaning of Christmas” items. Only those types of ornaments on the tree (nativities, crosses, angels, etc), about a dozen or more nativity sets around the house, that kind of thing. We have been doing this for at least 20 years. I need it to draw me back to the advent values of the season: hope, joy, love, and peace.
I like making fudge too!
That’s pretty cool tradition.
My favorite Christmas is my mom likes to get pajamas for her grandchildren and her 2 year old and almost 4 year old(my mom is an older mother she had her last at almost 46 her oldest granddaughter is 6 weeks older then my youngest sister) and put them on them Christmas Eve and take pictures my grandma use to do that for many years but then it just got to much now that she passed away some of the family does that with their grandchildren and children. My sister in law had a baby boy Early Sunday morning so now i have 3 nephews ( lon1.5,Vince 1 and Felix almost a week)and 2 nieces and a niece due in February. (Violet 2and Lottie 1)
Congrats on new nephew!
Christmas Eve candle light service then eating goodies and playing games while singing to Christmas music. Blessings
We love going to the Christmas Eve Candlelight service and driving to see lights. We read the Christmas story from the Bible before opening gifts.
We open one gift on Christmas Eve. It is usually something to wear such as pajamas, bathrobe or slippers! It could also be something to do that night such as a book, movie or a game!
congratulations. my favorite Christmas tradition has always been singing and worshiping all month long at church with family, friends and new friends and those that just come to church to check it out.
Fun!
Awesome that you read the Christmas story!
I’ve heard a lot of people do the pj gifts on Christmas Eve. :)
I like that!
My favorite Christmas tradition is two fold and that is getting out the Nativity Scene and putting it up & a tradition I started myself to make gift giving easy was starting buying Omaha Steaks Packages as gifts and as it turns out they ask for that gift every year
If I win I will want print
Hope I Win
Your book sounds really good. I need to put it on my TBR list. I would say my favorite tradition is hosting our Christmas Eve family get together. We have a small family. There will be 8 of us. There is food (of course) and lots of presents. I like spoiling my grandkids and kids.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I always enjoy our big meal on Christmas day with all of us gathered together at the table. It’s a nice time.
decorating
I enjoy reading from Luke 2 on Christmas Eve. Thank you for sharing. God bless you.
Those are great traditions!
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
I like that as well.
Blessings to you too!
Decorating is so much fun!!
Our family has a lot of Christmas traditions and I really can’t pick one as a favorite, but one that I love is that we always celebrate Christmas Eve with my husband’s family instead of Christmas Day. This gives us a really fun Christmas Eve and also allows us to stay home all morning (unless Christmas falls on Sunday and then we attend church) without the kids needing to speed through our own family time to meet other obligations. I also great appreciate that my parents, who live 7 hours away, never expect us to travel on Christmas to be with them. We celebrate either before or after. While I miss being with my parents and siblings on Christmas Day, I’m so thankful my kids can have their own Christmas Day me worked in our home every year.
Memories not me worked 🤦🏻♀️
My favorite tradition is driving around looking at Christmas lights. The kids are allowed to pick a drive through or two and we have fun food to eat while we drive around.
We always read Luke 2 and sang Happy Birthday to Jesus before we opened presents.
We like driving around to see Christmas lights and getting together with family. Merry Christmas!
My favorite tradition…Christmas baking.
