Did you have a teacher who read to you? In 5th grade, I remember being allowed to lay our heads down on the desk after lunch and listen as Miss Scanlon read to us. Ahh, such a nice memory. That’s how I first experienced the book, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe—by listening to it first.
Speaking of listening to things, last year I mentioned a romantic cozy mystery series that I wrote about Tasha and Marc and their long and winding road to the altar. This year, I’ve put all three of these novellas into audio using a Google Play digital voice, and you can listen to them for FREE on YouTube!
My YouTube channel is very new, but I plan to offer a lot more FREE audiobooks. In fact, the day after Christmas, I’ll be releasing my bestselling romance in audio for free as well. It’s called Walking on Sea Glass, and it’s been narrated by the talented voice actor, Andy Garcia-Ruse 💕
Would you help me reach my goal of 1,000 subscribers by January?

You might wonder how authors can afford to offer audiobooks for free, and the answer is … advertising.
Many authors offer YOU free audiobooks in exchange for allowing advertisers some space. And we can potentially receive income if we have enough subscribers.
In other words, It can be a win-win for both of us ❤️
For You Multi-taskers
Until recently, I wasn’t much of an audiobook listener myself. I still prefer reading books, but … I’m a busy gal. And a multitasker who likes to listen to podcasts and webinars while doing something mundane like filing or laundry or sweeping
So if that’s you too, listening to audiobooks is one easy way to keep your mind occupied while your hands are busy.
Audiobooks Fill Another Oft-Overlooked Need
And I would be remiss not to mention those readers who have failing eyesight or simply tired eyes. I *see* you! Authors see you. And this is another reason that audiobooks have taken off in both human-narrated and digital-voice-narrated formats.
As I mentioned, there are already three audiobooks up on my new channel (with more to come). That means you can start listening right away while sipping hot chocolate and wrapping presents 🎁!
If you’re an audiobook listener, will you help me reach my goal as I build my channel? Do you follow any other authors on YouTube? What are some of your favorites on or off of YouTube? Drop me a comment—I’d love to hear about your experiences!
And if you’re not a fan of audiobooks, that’s perfectly okay too! The beautiful thing is that audio is just one of several ways we can immerse ourselves in the power of story. And that’s a win for everyone, young and old🏆

I haven’t listened to audio books cos I tend to get distracted. I do watch youtube and often have to rewind cos I was doing two things at once and missed stuff happening.
I do like the idea of your Cozy Mysteries. I think its one of my favourite genres . Will check it out.
In Grade 6 our teacher was reading books by Colin Theile to us. He’s an Aussie Author (Passed away several years back) You may have heard of Storm Boy which was made into a film and shown in America. We were reading his books When he came to speak with the grade 7’s. When he heard our teacher was reading his books to us he came and talked to us for about half an hour. His books were Australian book and I still remember parts of them. While the books were not considered Christian fiction he was a Christian.

I found out I can’t do audiobooks. I’ll either pay attention to the book or whatever else I was going to do while listening, which is why I will NEVER listen to one in the car! I know a lot of people who love audiobooks, and I do subscribe to one or two authors’ YouTube channels, though I never listen to them! Just don’t tell them I said that! I was helping them to get the numbers they needed. I’ll actually do the same thing for you now.

I love audio books, I subscribe to quite a few YouTube channels for audio books and also borrow them via my library. I really enjoy having something to listen to while driving, doing laundry…anything really. I’ve subscribed to your channel, looking forward to listening to your cosy mysteries.

You’re so kind, Trudy! And I understand. The fact is we all learn differently. Some of us consume by listening and some by seeing. There’s no right way–just different! That’s why I like the idea of offering my stories in different ways depending on how someone will enjoy it best. Thank you so much for your help 🥰

Thank you, Ruthie! It’s much appreciated. I’m trying to add them to library channels as well. It’s a process!

I’m not a fan of audiobooks – too easily distracted and I could read a few books in the time it took me to listen to one. I have followed you and a couple of other authors and in the newsletters if they ask to click wherever on youtube, yep, I’m happy to support in that way. Good luck with your audio books. Given my eye surgery failed and the lack or removal of accessibility in ebooks maybe I’ll be revisiting audiobooks. Blessings for Christmas and the New Year

Thank you for the support, Dianne. Much appreciated 💕. I hope your eyes improve 🙏
