Valerie: Hey, good morning, Noah! Thanks for coming by Inspy Romance today.
Noah: Hi, everyone. Good to be here. I think.
Valerie: Tell me a bit about your family.
Noah: Do you have all day? (laughs) It’s a his, hers, and theirs kind of family. I’m one of “hers” along with my twin, Nathaniel, and our older brother, Adam. My dad died of cancer when Nathaniel and I were ten, and Mom married Declan Cavanagh the next year. He had three boys, too, and then he and Mom had a set of twins as well. Girls that time.
Valerie: Wow, so a blended family of eight kids?
Noah: Nine, if you count Declan’s other daughter who found our family a couple of years ago. She’s a bit older than the twins.
Valerie: So, how do you fit into the dynamics? Because it sounds complex.
Noah: It is, rather. It really helped that Nat and I had each other, especially when our mom began spiralling into depression when the girls were little. Her marriage to Declan wasn’t all that great. Still isn’t, frankly. Anyway, Nat felt super protective and stuck close by, while Adam ran off to become a rodeo star. I guess my personality is somewhere in the middle, because I wanted off my stepfather’s ranch, too, but I apprenticed as a blacksmith and eventually bought my mentor’s mobile farrier business when he retired. So, Rockstead Ranch was still my home, but I didn’t have to watch what was going on every single day.
Valerie: What does a mobile farrier do?
Noah: I have a circuit around western Montana where I have contracts with various ranches to care for their horses’ hooves on a regular basis. So there’s a lot of travel, but I’ve made good friends, too.
Valerie: Oh, interesting. What’s the most unique thing that’s ever happened to you on your rounds?
Noah: Probably the time I came across a herd of malnourished, mistreated mares. They were in pretty bad shape, and I’m glad I could rescue them. I took care of their hooves and they were rehomed soon after.
Valerie: Haven’t I heard your brothers tease you about your propensity to rescue animals?
Noah: I guess, because there was also that litter of abandoned puppies. But what am I supposed to do, go on by and pretend I didn’t notice? Not a chance. That’s not in my DNA. If someone needs help, I’ll be right there, giving it.
Valerie: Just animals, or people, too?
Noah: Anyone.
Valerie: So, if you came across a woman stuck in a snowbank in a rogue spring blizzard, you’d totally rescue her?
Noah. Of course. What kind of decent human being wouldn’t?
Valerie: What if she had a wedding gown in the backseat of her car because she was running from her wedding?
Noah (rubs jaw): I’m not sure why you’re thinking up some random scenario that would likely never happen.
Valerie: Work with me here. Would you rescue her?
Noah: Well, sure. I wouldn’t want someone freezing to death at the side of the road if I could have prevented it. I’m sure this hypothetical runaway bride would have her reasons for being there.
Valerie: Okay, good. That’s all I needed to know. Thanks for coming in. I have work to do!
Noah: Hey, wait. That’s the end of the interview? I don’t get to tell your readers how charming I am, or what a good big brother I am to the girls, or how I have clients on a wait list in case someone drops off, or…?
Valerie: Nope, that’s all. Out you go. I need to talk to the readers without you here.
Noah: Okay, fine. Whatever. (Exits stage left.)
Valerie: Isn’t Noah the greatest? And shhh, don’t tell him, but I have totally set him up with a runaway bride, Taryn Bellamy. Does she have her reasons for driving right past the wedding venue with her bags packed for her honeymoon and her wedding dress draped on top of them? Of course, she does.
And there’s Noah, the rescuer. How convenient! Now they get to be stranded in that blizzard together. Should be tons of fun, right?
More about Choose Me for Always, Cowboy:
Itinerant farrier Noah Cavanagh has driven in some of the worst conditions in western Montana, yet this whiteout has him considering options for holing up until the storm passes. Then he spots a car that slid off the remote highway. A Good Samaritan like him can’t let the woman inside freeze to death out here on her own.
Taryn Bellamy’s unwelcome discovery had billowed her previous niggles about her fiancé into full-blown doubt, so she’d driven right on by the wedding venue. Instead of Hawaii-bound on her honeymoon, she’s now stuck — literally — in a spring blizzard. When a cowboy in a solid-looking truck stops and suggests she join him at a nearby ranch to wait out the storm, her spidey-senses are on full alert, but what choice does she have?
Can Noah constrain himself before he tries to rescue Taryn from everything else in her life, too? Because some things are beyond the help of a knight in shining armor.
Choose Me for Always, Cowboy released in August. If you haven’t picked up your copy yet, it’s now available in paperback, ebook, and via Kindle Unlimited.
Noah’s brothers teased him about his rescuer complex. Tell me, if your friends or siblings were talking about you, what would they likely be bringing up?
Mine would say, “Oh, that Valerie! She’s got such a strange sense of humor…”

I’ve had the pleasure of reading all the stories in this series so far and I’ve not been disappointed. I’m excited for the next story in the series and being able to catch up what going on in everyone lives.
Jeannette says
Thanks for the interview, it really whet my appetite. I love the Riverbend and Farm Fresh series but have only read one of your cowboy books, and this preview made me want to read more.
Lilly says
Hmm my family would probably say I’m a bit grumpy, my friends that i’m very outspoken…or adorable depending on the perspective? haha
I love book covers and it’s really funny but I’ve won two of the series in awards 2 on bookfunnel and 3 on rustic.
Lori Smanski says
Oh what a fun interview. Poor Noah didn’t get to finish HIS interview. LOL this sounds like it would be such a fun story, I know my family would say that I am the quiet one, but always there for everyone and helpful and giving to a fault.
Lori R says
That was a fun interview and now I want to read the book!
RuthieH says
I love these interview posts, I’ll definitely be adding Noah to my to read pile.
Hmm, if my siblings were teasing me, I think my sister would definitely bring up how I hate calling people I don’t know on the phone – which his probably fair because of the number of times I’ve made her call people on my behalf as she doesn’t mind at all ☺️
Trudy says
Love this! Now I really need to read Noah’s story! Plus, he shares his name with one of my little Kiwi’s! I think my family would comment on how well I took care of Mom.
Andrea Conner says
They would say I’m a giver.
Alicia Haney says
Good morning, I love this interview, and I love, love the sound of your book! Your book cover is also beautiful! My sibling would say that sometimes I am too nice, but I will stand up for my family when needed for sure. (not entering this ebook giveaway, but thank you, I am not tech savvy at all) I will have to look up your book to see if it is in print because I love the sound of it. Have a great weekend and stay safe.
Kendra Muonio says
Great interview now I will have to read the book it sounds great
Valerie Comer says
Thank you, Brenda!!
Valerie Comer says
Welcome to the cowboy side! :)
Valerie Comer says
Ah, perspective is everything! I hope you like the Cavanagh Cowboys covers :)
Valerie Comer says
Sounds like your family knows you well and honors you, Lori!
Valerie Comer says
That may have been the intention… ;)
Valerie Comer says
Hey, Ruthie, I’m with you. I can put off making phonecalls for a ridiculous amount of time.
Valerie Comer says
Hugs, Trudy… I’m SURE they were very thankful for your tender care.
Valerie Comer says
That’s a really good thing to be known for!!!
Valerie Comer says
Hi Alicia – it is definitely in print :)
Sometimes people say someone is “too nice” as though it’s an insult, but wow, I think it is the highest compliment as it means you’re attuned to meeting the needs of those around you and putting others first. What a great way to be known.
Valerie Comer says
Enjoy :)
Priscila Perales says
Ha, that’s the first time I’ve seen the interviewer finishing it up so quickly, but poor Noah definitely walked into that one, lol. And now I wanna know how his story plays out! :)
Valerie Comer says
Yes, I had all the information I needed from Noah, LOL!!! I hope you enjoy his and Taryn’s story.
Bonnie Heringer says
I loved the interview. This will have to go on my TBR list for sure. I am the baby of the family and my sister and brother would probably say that I was mom’s favorite.
Valerie Comer says
I’m the baby, too, and got a lot of “hey, we would never have gotten away with that!” Hope you enjoy the story :)

Megan says
Fun interview!
Valerie Comer says
Thanks!
Debra Pruss says
Thank you so much for sharing, Valerie. My family and friends would say there is not a cat or kitten that I do not fall in love with. If I could, I would bring in all the stray cats and kittens. We feed and water them everyday. We keep an eye on them. God bless you.
Valerie Comer says
You’re a woman after Noah’s own heart, Debra!
Melynda says
I’ve loved this series and enjoyed this book as much as the others in it. I’m excited to hear how Declan’s situation ends up!
Valerie Comer says
Thank you! I’ve finished writing Ryder and Carey’s story and it’s nearly ready for my editor. It will be hard to close the door on the Cavanagh clan!
Angeline says
This was a fun interview! And I am excited to read the book.
Valerie Comer says
Thanks, Angeline!
Geozla says
I liked the interview. Funny.
My family will say that I’ll stickler for rules.
Valerie Comer says
Hi Geozla! I tend to be a rule-follower too. I like knowing the boundaries.
Cindi Knowles says
Funny you would ask… I was just told that I’m the popular family member… Everyone likes me on all sides of our family. I am like Switzerland, neutral to all of everyone’s issues, I just love them all and pass all the info back and forth. That might sound superior but it really is how I try go be, I don’t ever take sides and I dry go smooth the way. So they all turn my way go keep the peace, I think try any me to plan a reuion… Help.
Linda Herold says
What an interesting job! Interesting and informative post!
Valerie Comer says
Being a neutral Switzerland is an amazing gift! I’m a bit too opinionated for that. Sad, but true!
Valerie Comer says
Thanks, Linda!
Terry B says
Hey, I think Noah believes he got cut short on his interview!
Some people would say I’m quiet, and try to fly under the radar. I’m shy, and find it hard to talk to people, especially if I don’t know them.
Thanks for the chance to win the book.
Valerie Comer says
Hmm, you think Noah felt rushed? I can’t imagine why! LOL
Natalya Lakhno says
Character interviews are so much fun!
Valerie Comer says
I’m glad you think so! :)
Abigail Harris says
Such a fun post!
Valerie Comer says
I’m glad you enjoyed it, Abigail!
