Every year I feel the same thing – with so much prep and excitement leading up to Christmas, suddenly it’s over, and then there’s…. nothing. Except the cleanup and the leftovers.
Okay, I like the leftovers. I don’t like the cleanup.
Who can still hear the words to an old Christmas song in their head – It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year?
As much as I enjoy Christmas, I think the time after Christmas is also a wonderful time of the year. This is the melt-down time, when suddenly everything is slow, and many of us need recovery. What a great time, to recover with friends and family, whether it be sitting on the couch with our feet up on the coffee table (oops did I just admit that?) and a hot coffee in our hands, we groan together and sigh, saying all the rush is finally over. While not the most romantic of times, it’s a good time spent with family and loved ones. Sharing the joys and now-past frustrations of the season, and not having to think about next Christmas quite yet.
Isn’t that another great part of the Christmas season?
Wishing you all the blessings to you and yours, that you had a great Christmas. Enjoy the leftovers, and you don’t have to take the tree down until the New Year.
