WHAT happened to this year? Black Friday…Cyber Monday…wha???
We walked into Walmart the other night and they had signs pointing back to where Santa was…or, if you preferred, you could scan a QR code and chat with Santa on the phone. Again…wha???
I rushed back to see if my “new” book was out—it was actually my very FIRST book with Harlequin Love Inspired, reprinted with a story from the lovely Janet Tronstad. Color me thrilled that it was actually there, especially because this is the first year in a long time I don’t have a new Christmas book out.
But I do love reading Christmas stories during the holiday season (especially because when I’m WRITING them, it’s usually during the middle of summer).
It made me think of my many book blessings over the years. I have a couple of self-published books which are free on Kindle Unlimited or $0.99 to buy, so if you don’t have those, I hope you’ll pick them up for your holiday reading pleasure.
And then there are all the Christmases past…
What do I have in my future? A July release from Harlequin and I hope to have at least a couple of self-published novels next year, but at this point, only God knows.
In the meantime, I’ll try to wrap my mind around this blessed holiday season–the birth of our precious Savior and the opportunity to spend time with family.
What are you looking forward to this holiday season?

I’m looking forward to catching up with all of my family. We are rather scattered.

Congratulations. I feel that it is crazy how early Christmas stuff came out this year. I also feel like Christmas has become sooo commercialized over the years. I love this season, remembering and studying the birth of Christ and what the season really stands for. I love to get together with family and friends. I love to sew something special for each one. Blessings on a special Christmas season.

Congratulations! That must be such a thrill to see your book in a story…I can only imagine! It seems like Christmas is being rushed earlier and earlier every year….while I would be fine with that if it was meant for the real reason instead of just trying to make people shop more! I try to stay away from stores this time of year, lol

Congrats, Deb…..so thrilled for you. IF I brave Walmart, I will look for your book. However, I am like Paula above, I try to stay away from stores this time of year!

There were 22 of us for Thanksgiving this year. There will be less at Christmas, as four of ones with us will be going to New Zealand, and two others will spend Christmas with her family. I love to see them, but I also love coming home to a quiet house!!

Our kids and their kids will all be here for Christmas, and my brother will drop in for a few days right before Christmas.
