Hello, Inspy friends. Well, for me it’s time to sadly say goodbye. This will be my last post in Inspyromance for a while. I have really enjoyed my time here, meeting all of you, and making new friends. However, life has been so busy for me over the last several months, I needed to take a break from a few things.
Many of you may remember from my January post that my husband and I started a new ministry back in November, and as a Pastor’s wife, I have been super, super busy with the church, (but I’m not complaining because I am loving every single minute of it) but it has been time consuming.
Then on top of all the busyness, back on March 16, I broke my left foot. Which has SLOWED me down tremendously, but while I was laid up, I was able to finally finish my book. Now, I’m excited to share with all of you my newest release, JUST ONE KISS.
Let me tell you a little about it. Who knew jumping out of a window would change her life forever.
Amber Lexington has to make one of the biggest decisions in her life, and she only has seconds to make it. It’s either jump out of a wedding chapel window or be trapped in a loveless marriage forever.
Rejected and abandoned by his fiancée, Nolan Spearman needs a reprieve to get his life back on track. When his parents offer him the job of remodeling their newly acquired beach house, Nolan gladly accepts. It’s the perfect plan. That is, until his twin sister and her best friend, Amber, show up and throw a wrench into his well-laid plans. Will he be able to keep his heart from falling in love again? Especially with a woman who harbors a secret that could change everything?
As of my way of saying, Goodbye for now, I’m giving away FIVE ebook copies of JUST ONE KISS. Leave a comment before April, 1 for your chance to win.
Happy Spring, Everyone!!!!

I’m sorry that you’re leaving us, Debra, but I certainly understand. Having broken each foot twice during my life, I feel your pain. At least it slowed you down enough to finish your book. I enjoyed the excerpt and look forward to reading JUST ONE KISS. Take care of yourself!

There is so much about being a Minister’s wife that I loved. Its a wonderful privilege, a tough, joyful, thankless, amazing, challenging, love-filled, sometimes painful, always meaningful calling that gives back to you in the many, many family members in Christ who you gain. Now my husband is in a non-parish position there are many things I miss about the life of ‘the wife’.
May God help you to serve your husband, your church family and your Lord.
Wemble says
Hi Debra, sorry to hear you are taking a break, and broke your foot…but I am glad you are part of a thriving ministry. Just One Kiss sounds like a fun read, glad that finishing it was your blessing from having a broken foot!! Happy Autumn (here in the Southern Hemisphere), I am enjoying seeing the leaves change- and blessed we still have leaves unlike family in North Queensland who have just been hit by a massive cyclone!
Blessings, look forward to your return:)

I am so sorry that you broke your foot and I hope it is healing nicely. I will miss your blog posts!
Renate says
Hi Debra! Your ministry is in my thoughts and prayers. Being a pastor’s wife is a meaningful calling, but often filled with challenges to be true to oneself and family (both personal and church). I was a pastor’s wife for 25 years and we served 3 churches and a retirement home. Wishing you a speedy recovery from your broken foot. I broke my wrist last year. Best wishes to you. On Kiss sounds like a fun read. I enjoyed reading your Christmas novella A Match Made for Christmas.
Linda Rainey says
God’s blessing on the changes in your life.
Just One Kiss sounds interesting.
Priscila says
I’m so sorry to hear you’re leaving, but I understand being busy and apparently you are the best kind of busy: working a new ministry alongside your husband. I wish you both many blessings during this new phase of your life.
I’m looking forward to Just One Kiss and many other books (hopefully you’ll find time to write again once you’ve settled down).
Colleen says
Sad to see you leave but changes are good with the exception of a broken leg. I wish you all the best in your future endeavor. I will miss your blogs but i will always have your books.
Diana says
I’ll miss your blogs. Lord bless your foot. We’re saying a lot of goodbyes now. We’re leaving our home of 30 years. Looking ahead to where God will lead us in Kentucky. Lord give you grace with your many jobs. Thanks for writing!

I am kinda new here (and absent lately due to surgery..first day of kinda normal) but want to wish you HIS best! Since I was in Church Admin. for 34 yrs., the pastors’ wives were my closest friends, and I still keep in touch with those still living. Would love to read your book! Blessings~~~

I’ve been looking at your books for some time, and need to move them up on my list to read. It’s always good to find a blessing in the midst of something bad, like getting to finish the book. Sorry to see you go, but praying you will be greatly blessed and be a blessing!

Good morning, Jill! One broken foot is enough for me. I can’t even imagine doing it twice and both feet, OH MY!!! But the silver lining for me is,like you said, it gave me time to finish my book. I also have another deadline coming up June 1, so it’s giving me time to work on that one, too :)
katie07edgar says
I hope your foot heals and you are able to enjoy your time with this new ministry! Time is precious!

Good Morning, Wemble! Thank you :) I try to see the good in everything, so I look at breaking my foot as a blessing. It has helped me to slow down and to finish some things that I’ve started, JUST ONE KISS being one of them. I also have a June 1 deadline for another book, and I’m able to work on that one, too, now. :) It’s the beginning of Spring for us here, I am enjoying seeing the trees and flowers blooming and the warmer temperatures. Sorry to hear about the folks in North Queensland, I will keep them in my prayers.
debracollins2016 says
Thank you, Iraines! I will miss blogging here, too. Hopefully, I will be returning some time in the future :)

We’re going to miss you, Debra! And I hope when life settles back into a rhythm (the kind NOT induced by broken bones!!!) you’ll be coming back as a blogger with us.
Best wishes on Just One Kiss and your current writing as well. Take care, and don’t be a stranger!
debracollins2016 says
Thank you, Renate! Yes, I agree with you, being a Pastor’s wife is a meaningful calling. It does have its challenges, but it’s worth every single one of them, isn’t it? :) I”m so glad you enjoyed A Match Made for Christmas, I hope you enjoy Just One Kiss just as much!
debracollins2016 says
Thank you so very much, Linda!
debracollins2016 says
Thank you so much, Priscila! Yes, working in the ministry is the best kind of busy :) Right now, I’m getting in some much needed writing time, and I need to take advantage of it while I can, because my foot won’t always be broken :D

That was so sweet, Colleen, thank you! I will miss blogging here, too, but hopefully I’ll be back soon!
debracollins2016 says
Thank you so much, Diana! I do understand about saying many goodbyes, too. We have decided (once my foot heals) that we are going to move to Georgia to be closer to our church. We have lived here in Alabama in the same home for 21 years now. But where the Lord leads, WE will follow :) They say life slows down after 50, I don’t know who said that, but I am living proof that they were wrong :D
Merrillee Whren says
Debra, sorry to see you go. You books sounds fun!
debracollins2016 says
Hello, Jackie! I am so glad to hear you’re doing well after your back surgery. I still keep in touch with some of my former pastor’s wives, too. One in particular, was my pastor’s wife well over 30 years ago, and she is still one of my dearest friends. I hope and pray that I will have the same kind of bond with my ladies at our church as I have with her. The people that God has sent to our ministry is not only church members, but they are OUR FAMILY, too!!

Thank you, Ielandandbecky! I think my broken foot was God’s loving way of saying to me, “Slow Down.” It gave me the time that I needed to finish, Just One Kiss, and I also have a deadline for another book for June 1, and it looks like I’m right on schedule with that one, too. :)
debracollins2016 says

Thank you for sharing your time & talents with me. I truly understand “seasons” in our Walk with God. Fulltime Ministry can be all consuming…I say this from personal experience. Keeping your life & ministry “in balance” isn’t easy to do. So I appreciate your decision, & will be praying for you. I’m looking forward to reading your new story.
Narelle S says
I would be honoured to have my thoughts shared with other wives in ministry, Debra. We all need encouragement from other sisters at times as its a life that is hard for even the most loving of friends to understand ‘from the outside’.
