Last month we had a big pretty big event happen in our family. One month ago today, my oldest son got married, and we gained a daughter-in-love! They had such a beautiful ceremony that was full of love and reminders of how God’s design for marriage comes together beautifully when you place Him first in your relationship.
There was planning, presents, and dress shopping, not to mention the showers–oh so many bridal showers! Their house is sufficiently decorated now, and it’s so cute. It’s been twenty-seven years since I got married, so it was fun to see how the trends have changed in that time. (And it’s changed a lot). It’s been so fun to see all the details of the past seven months come together, but it’s over in the blink of an eye.
It’s definitely wedding season–at least for me. My oldest kids are at an age where many of their friends are starting to get married or get engaged. Almost every month this spring, summer, and fall, there is a wedding to attend. April through October are popular wedding months. My daughter works at a wedding venue, and there are two to three weddings each weekend during those months. They stay busy for sure!
All the talk about love has inspired me to hop back into my work in progress. Honestly, I’ve been so busy the past year between wedding planning, work, and my daughter’s sports I haven’t written much. But that’s changing now, and thankfully I’ve been writing a little more each week. I guess all the talk about love has given me lots of inspiration!
What’s on your reading list this summer? I’d love for you to leave your book recommendations or TBR in the comments. Reading is always a great inspiration for writing.
PS… I couldn’t talk about the wedding without sharing at least one photo from the beautiful day. We’re still waiting on pictures, but we did get a few sneak peeks from the photographer.

It’s a great photo! Love her dress!! You really need to read Elizabeth Maddrey’s newest Billionaire book, The Billionaire’s Backup. It’s really good!! I’m ready for the next one! I have so many in my TBR stack I want to read, plus I checked out some books from my church library! There’s just not enough hours in the day!

My husband and I got married on the 24th of June. It was going to be June 11th of 2020 but we all know that story. ;)

I love weddings. Love the picture you shared. I just finished Pam Crooks book in the Pink Pistol Sisterhood series, Armed & Marvelous. I will be reading the last 4 books of that series as they release. Today I started Huckleberry Hill by Jennifer Beckstrand. Like so many others, I have a TBR list a mile long.

At this time, I believe most of my summer will be reading ARC’s for authors. I have recently read two outstanding ARC’s. One was Rachel Hauck’s The Best Summer of our Lives. The other was Cindy Sproles’ This is Where it Ends. Both of these books will be coming out on June 27th. They are must reads. Thank you so much for sharing. God bless you.

I haven’t created a list, other than as I see books I add them to the tbr list. It’s something I will look into post eye surgery. Congratulations on expanding your family, it sounds like it was an amazing event full of love and blessings.
