Proverbs 3:5 & 6 have become a couple of my favorite verses. Here’s a link to the NASB version if you would like to read them in their entirety.
I was recently at the Mount Hermon Christian Writer’s Conference in California. It was a time of renewal and refreshment for me since I attended the professional track that was designed to be a retreat. The weather was colder than I’d planned for, so I greatly appreciated the outdoor fire pits, with plenty of seating nice and close to stay warm. I spent some time around the fire pictured above. :)
I love gathering with likeminded people. There is something to be said for being with “my people.” In this case it was other writers. But I also love talking books with likeminded readers, after all, I was a reader long before a writer. :)
I didn’t go to the conference with an agenda, and I’m not here today with one either. I simply want to spend time with you. I want to hear about what is important to you. What is your passion? I imagine many of you will say reading. What are you reading? Do you enjoy traveling? Please tell me about your latest adventure.
Let’s chat.
P.S. A Love to Treasure is free on Amazon today. Here’s the link.

Hi Kimberly! Glad you had some time to relax and reflect. In addition to Proverbs 3: 5 & 6, when life is hectic and spinning out of control I remember Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God.” So often when stressed we forget to take a deep breath and smell the roses. Spring break and a cold week in the Midwest. Even though travel wasn’t the best, hubby and I made an hour long trip to the city we lived in when first married to reconnect with some friends we haven’t seen in person in 40 years. It was a delightful day and travel conditions were much better on our way home. Taking the week to relax – no grandkids to watch this week. Enjoy your day!

I really love figure skating and since the world championships took place a couple of weeks ago I’ve really been enjoying watching coverage of the event. My favorite pairs team won their event with a fantastic skate which was neat to watch.

I love that verse too. Thanks for sharing it. How fun to be able to connect in person with long time friends. Enjoy the rest of your week!

Figure skating is such a beautiful sport. I’ve begun to really enjoy ice dancing in recent years. It’s come a long way since I was a young adult.

Glad to hear you are having a wonderful time. Yes reading is one of my passions, but the biggest passion for me is quilting. For me it relieves stress and i can go into a different world of my own as well as creating something special for someone else. I like to pray about the person as i quilt for them.

Our latest adventure was a three-day trip with our three oldest granddaughters (age 8, 6, 5) during their spring break. A day at the zoo was sandwiched between two seven-hour travel days! They were such a joy (really!) and it was delightful to see creation through their eyes.
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
How cool! Not so sure about that seven hour drive though. :)

What a fabulous passion! I love that you pray for the person as you make their quilt.

Just gearing up to read If I Live by Terri Blackstock (yes, a bit of a different genre from what we mostly talk about here). I love traveling; I wish we could do more.

I find peace in the mornings when I read a daily plan from you version and reflecting on the word before I begin my day at work. There are quiet a few verses in the Bible that I love and live by because it also gets me through the day.
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
That’s a wonderful way to start the day.

I enjoy romantic suspense too. :)

Hi Kimberly! You know that I enjoy reading. I have recently finished reading 3 different books that will be coming out in the Tuscan Legacy series, and they are all really good! It will be a great series.
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
I’m looking forward to reading that series, Becky. :)

I love to spend money on other peoles junk. There is just something about digging through a thrift shop and finding treasures that only cost a few dollars. Especially when you get to do it with good friends.
I enjoy singing on the worship team. Working with teens in the youth group.
I have also always been interested in writing. Though I have never really taken it too seriously and tend to just binge write for a few days. I’m trying to get better at making it more habitual, and developing the craft.
Who knows… Maybe one day, you’ll be reading some of my stuff. ;-)
