It’s going around. The Hero Fever. Everyone seems to be posting their favorite heroes. To be fair, I think Novel Crossing started the latest outbreak.
But tell me something: Can there ever be enough hero talk, really? I didn’t think so.
Since it’s my day to hijack the InspyRomance blog, the place for all things contemporary romance, I’m going to get the conversation started with my top three heroes of the genre. Just because I can.
So without further ado, in no particular order, here are the top three fictional fellows for which I have a healthy appreciation — and the incredible authors who created them.
James MacDonald – Five Days in Skye – Carla Laureano
Roguish. Scottish. Chef. James has this swagger and charm to him that come with the territory of being a celebrity. But he also has a past and this deep, sensitive side to him. This combination translates brilliantly on the page. He’s essentially a bad boy you can still bring home to mama. Plus, the dude can cook. Enough said.
Evan Price – Wildflowers from Winter – Katie Ganshert
Strong. Loyal. Hardworking. Evan’s a farmhand who starts out very much at odds with his heroine, Bethany. There’s a vulnerability for her that chisels away his stubbornness, and soon he’s channeling that strength to be dependable for her when she needs him the most. Sigh. Yes.
Bo Porter – Undeniably Yours – Becky Wade
Protective. Devoted. Cowboy. Bo is drawn to Meg from the start, overcoming obstacles as he pursues her. I’m not even the kind of girl who normally goes all weak at the knees for the cowboy type. So what’s different?? Oh yeah. Bo kind of punches a guy out defending Meg’s honor. Yep. End of discussion.
Well, there you have it! My top three heroes in the very stacked contemporary romance category. I realize this topic is extremely subjective, and this is an equal opportunity blog.
So who are your favorite heroes? I’ve told you mine, now you tell me yours :)

I agree on James Macdonald! Maybe I just want him to cook for me…
