Recently, I was challenged to live generously.
“True generosity is an offering; given freely and out of pure love. No strings attached. No expectations. Time and love are the most valuable possessions you can share.” Suze Orman.
In an attempt to live a life filled with generosity, I have made one of my books free indefinitely. It’s the prequel to my Brides of Seattle series. Until I Met You. It’s available at B&N as well as Smashwords and Amazon, but the next two books can only be found on Amazon.
Here’s a short blurb about Until I Met You.
After a difficult breakup, Brandi Prescott is taking a hiatus from men and focusing on her career, the Lord, and getting to know herself. Everything is going according to plan until one fateful, rainy morning in Seattle when a passing car drenches her and everything changes.
As we celebrate this blogs 5th birthday, I reflected on my time here. I have found the past five years on this blog to be filled with authors who have generously given of their time as well as offered free books and gifts. Then there is you, our readers. You have taken the time to not only read the blog but to engage with us in the comments. That is a huge gift. Thank you!
I’ve enjoyed these past five years. Now I must face the fact that my career has shifted ever so slightly, but enough that the books I’m writing this year don’t fit the Inspy romance blog’s focus. So it is with regret that I am stepping aside from blogging at inspyromance.com for this next year as I focus on my romantic mysteries and screenwriting.
As my time on this blog as a blogger comes to an end, I want to let you know that I will still be around. You can always find me via my website.
I will still be reading this blog every day along with you and commenting alongside everyone else in the facebook group for this blog. I’ll miss posting each month, but I’m not gone, I’m only participating in a less obvious way.
Because we are all in a different place and on our journey, living a generous life will look a little different for each of us. It might mean babysitting someone for free, or taking friend to an appointment, or even simply having coffee with someone when you really should be cleaning the house or whatever.
Let’s live a generous life together.
Happy Reading, friends.

Hi Kimberly, what a great challenge. I think the part about living generously with no expectations of reward is the hard part sometimes! That’s what amazes me about God- he sacrificed Himself with no guarantee that we would accept that.
Kimberly, I’ll miss your posts, the sharing of your thoughts. Blessings to you for the next stage of your life:)
Ausjenny says
Kimberly we will miss you but wish you well with your future endeavours.
On living generously and expecting nothing I believe that is what mum lived. I remember more than once she felt lead to give some money to help someone or to do something for someone even if it was the last of her money till next payment but God found ways to repay her. I remember one time she felt so strongly to help a guy who had just become a Christian and wanted to replay the places he stole from. She knew it was her last 20 or so dollars but she gave it to him. In the mail a check from an insurance policy came from her brothers estate it was the amount she had given. This happened several times and it has left a strong impression on me.
I have recently been helping someone look after her cats for a few months, as much as I loved them and would have done it for nothing she has blessed me by leaving a few items for me (like a tv that works way better than mine did) She also left items for my new cats which I certainly wouldn’t been able to afford. I think when we do things without expecting anything in return God finds a way to bless us.

Kimberly, you will be missed! But , as you said, you can still be communicated with. ?
I love your talk about generosity. In a world that has mostly forgotten what that means, it is always good to be reminded. It’s so sweet of you to offer a free book. Thank you ❣️

Lord bless your new season of life! I woke up thinking of ways to give to my brother and sister in law He just had a stroke so we want to show them love as well as prayers. God always blesses as we give.

Thanks, Wemble. I’ve been thinking about your comment regarding living generously with no expectations when it struck me that the act of generosity can be a reward in and of itself because it makes you feel good. And wow, great thought about Jesus’ sacrifice. I never thought about that before.
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
I loved reading your recounting of your mom’s generosity and yours, Ausjenny. You are both very inspiring. Thank you!

Kimberly Rose Johnson says
Hi, Paula. I’ll still be around. Can you believe that after I had to make my decision one way or another about this blog I signed on to write a CCR Christmas novella? And here I thought I wouldn’t be writing CRR this year. But it fits with the direction the Lord is leading me because the leader of the set wants to pitch it adapted for the screen.
It’s so fun watching the Lord work!
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
Thank you, Valerie!

I try hard to live generously, I babysit 4 days a week free, and i try to visit and elderly friend at least once a month. And I clean the snow off my elderly neighbor’s car whenever I beat her out there. These are just the ones I do regularly.

Thanks for the reminder to live generously. In our busy lives, it’s easy to forget that you can influence others simply by being generous. And generosity means different things -it doesn’t have to be lavish. You’ve inspired me to focus on it this coming week. Thanks.
