Who doesn’t, right? Authors love to give books away, and we wish we could give them ALL away, every day — but life’s not like that. Even authors have mortgages to pay, kids to feed, cars that need repairing. Our to-pay lists are just as long as yours, so we need to SELL books to whittle those commitments down to size!
So, we do the next best thing. We give away books strategically. This goes for permanently free books as well as newsletter signup incentives, like the ones below. With a permanently free book, we’re hoping you LOVE that book so much you want to read the rest of the series… and then everything else that author wrote. The goal is similar for newsletter signup incentives, but with a twist.

Readers, as much as I think my readers might enjoy Autumn’s books, I would never give her all the email addresses that have been entrusted to me. Sharing list information is unethical and just plain wrong. I’m sure we have a lot of overlap, but each of us authors has gathered those reader names and emails independently.
