Hi InspyRomance Readers! I’m very happy to introduce a dear author friend of mine to you today. Shanna Hatfield and I met through a multi-author project that she graciously invited me to join a few years ago. Through our time working together, I got to know this kind woman who gives of herself so generously. Shanna is like a breath of fresh air filled with all the sweet fragrances of spring (that’s why I chose the photo above). I hope you enjoy getting to know her and her new release!
- I love to bake and try out new recipes.
- Photography is a hobby I enjoy.
- The sight of a John Deere tractor gives me the sweetest sense of nostalgia. I spent a lot of time riding in one with my dad during my growing up years.
She’s fresh out of jail . . .
He’s fresh out of luck.
Spoiled heiress Emery Brighton indulges in one mimosa too many, attempts to steal a horse, and winds up in jail. A sentence of community service leaves her at the mercy of strangers on a remote ranch near a small town in Oregon. Adjusting to country life is hard enough, but she has no idea how to handle her growing affection for a surly cowboy and his adorable daughter.
Steady and dependable as the day is long, rancher Hudson Cole just wants to raise his little girl and be left alone. When his grandmother invites a lawbreaker dressed in Louis Vuitton to Summer Creek Ranch, Hud is convinced Grammy has lost her ever-loving mind. Determined to detest Emery, he instead finds himself doing the one thing he vowed would never happen again: falling in love.
With one foot out the door, will love be enough to convince Emery to stay?
The book includes a Reader’s Guide, perfect for book club discussions.

Very interesting, but why is Captain Cavedweller the most appropriate nickname for him? Thanks

Thanks Liwen for giving us a chance to know Shanna better. I enjoy reading Shanna’s blogs and books. Her Christmas series The Beast of Faraday remains my favorite.
Shanna best wishes on your new series Summer Creek. Living in a small community with a creek I enjoy the setting, expect no cowboys in our small lake resort / farm community. Just farmers. My sons enjoyed exploring the ravine and creek as kids. Congrats on your new release. Best wishes. Enjoy your summer.

I do like reading stories featuring cowboys. What is it about them, I wonder? I guess it’s the idea of the “cowboy code”; he’s a gentleman through and through, he’s respectful of womenfolk, he lends a helping hand when needed, and just an all around nice guy. That’s the kind of cowboy I love to read about! Of course, there are a few scoundrels out there, lol! But I also love a reformed scoundrel, that just make him more appealing in a book. Redemption is a beautiful thing when it comes to characters (in my book anyway)! :-)

Hi Dianne,
Thanks for stopping in today.
My husband is even more of an introvert than I am and often jokes about living in a cave somewhere. That’s where the idea for the nickname came from. We have a lot of laughs about it.
Shanna Hatfield says
Aw, you are such a sweetheart, Sabrina. Thank you so, so much! So fun to connect with you here.

Hi Renate,
So fun to see you here today. Thank you! And I’m so happy you love the Faraday series. They are among my favorite Christmas stories I’ve written.
So neat you live in a small lake resort/farming community. I grew up as a farmer’s daughter, and can so appreciate the hard work of farmers.
Thank you, again! Have a lovely summer!
Shanna Hatfield says

Hi Trixi,
I agree – redemption is a beautiful thing and this book touches on that theme.
I also agree on why we love cowboys. There is an unspoken code most of them adhere to that make them everyday heroes.
Thank you for stopping in today. Have a lovely summer!
