Hello! Lindi here.
It’s Memorial Day! A day of remembrance and thankfulness. Let us never lose sight of what others have done so we can have our freedom.
I’d like to give a shout out to Lucy M. Reynolds, the winner of my giveaway last month. Thank you for stopping by the blog.
I know we have readers from all over the world visiting the Inspy Romance blog. Here in the United States it’s almost June and for most of us I think our weather is starting to warm up. It is here in Georgia. Hot days, still some cool nights, picnics, swimming, barbecues. All signs of people enjoying spending time outside. I’ve been somewhat of an indoors girl. (You know reading, writing all that stuff.)
Don’t get me wrong, I like going outside and swimming and being with people. But this year, being outside has taken on new meaning. I’m not sure why, I don’t know what’s changed, but I can’t wait to get out into the sunshine, fresh air and what I’m calling freedom from walls and boundaries.
I think it’s quite appropriate because that is what the character I’m writing is going through. She has had the same life for the last ten years and suddenly things have changed. She’s in a new location, surrounded by mostly new people, (there is the hero who she’s known a while) and she’s shoved into a situation she has no idea how to handle. She feels trapped, like there’s no way out, and she just wants to run back to all that’s familiar.
But she doesn’t.
She can’t.
She has to stay and figure this out because her mother’s life depends on it. (This probably sounds more dramatic than it is! I don’t write mysteries or thrillers.)
I love how real life plays into our fictional worlds. I love it when the emotions and feelings we are in the midst of can be of help in detailing our characters actions and internal conflict.
It also makes the writing go faster when everything is coming together! I’ll be doing some writing today on this Memorial Day. And I’m taking in an Atlanta Braves baseball game in the evening.
What are your plans today? I’ll be here checking on line. Would love to hear from you. Whatever your plans are, I hope you have an amazing day!

Hi Lindi, enjoy your warm days:) Here in Australia, Winter is nearly on us so windy, grey days are becoming the norm- the less frequent sunny days are something to savour and store away as it gets colder. We have Remembrance Day on November 11 and ANZAC Day April 25, so today was a regular day here; these days always remind of the sacrifice of others and ultimately, the sacrifice of Jesus.
Blessings:)

Hi Lindi, your book sounds great. As far as plans for today go, I’m not sure. I guess, I’ll take it as it comes. :) Have fun at the game!

Wemble—windy, grey days–kind of my favorite! And yes, the sacrifices of others must never go unnoticed. Have a great day. :)

Kim–we are having a rainy day here! We hope it will subside by game time tonight. Ironic this is a make up game for a rainout in April. Have a great day whatever you decide to do.

Colleen–we are having rain here in Ga today. But that’s okay. Enjoy your day and still eat some amazing food!

Hi Lindi,
I hate outside in the summer. Whoever came up with air conditioning deserves to be a millionaire in my book. We live near a man made lake, but never go there because it’s a crowded tourist attraction. We do have an above ground pool and that’s the only place I want to go outside when it’s hot.
I was in GA last week. We lived in Mableton for 5 years of my childhood and still have family in the area.

Thank you for the shout out. ❤️? We have been working in the yard and garden. Hubby is now weed eating and I just did some prep work in the kitchen for grilling later and made hot dog chili. Have a blessed and happy Memorial day .

Hi Lindi! After a week of rain, we had beautiful weather in the Midwest this Labor Day weekend. Even though temps yesterday reached 102 in Chicago and have been in the 90s, so nice to feel the warmth and have sunshine. Spent Saturday and Sunday in the Windy City Chicago to celebrate an 80th Birthday with a friend. Today was a relaxing day. As I teased my grandsons onThursday, I gave them the day off from school since it is my birthday. Visited my parents and relatives graves to water the plants. Been blessed by all the good wishes from friends, former colleagues, former students and their parents, authors, and readers from around the world (Germany, South Africa, and more) and across the country. Great seeing 2 of my 3 sons and all 4 grandkids.
