I’m thrilled to be a part of the Inspy Romance blog and wanted to take this opportunity to share with you my love for romance. I used to say if a book doesn’t have at least a little romance it’s not worth reading. I’ve matured a little since then, don’t get me wrong, I still love romance, but if a book is exceptional I can finish it, even if there is no romance. J
Have you ever noticed that movies are more enjoyable when there is chemistry between the hero and heroine? My husband’s and my taste in movies are not even close, but I can tolerate and even enjoy a non-chick flick if romance is included, but I like it to stay clean.
My romance obsession extends to the way I dress and decorate my home too. I don’t know why, but I associate the Eiffel Tower with romance. In addition to the Eiffel Towers below decorating my home, I have several pictures scattered around my house of the tower. At Christmas one of my sons strung a small strand of Christmas lights in and around my larger Eiffel Tower. :)
Okay, enough about me. I’d like to get to you. What draws you to a romance novel and then holds your interest? Are you as in love with romance as I am?

There definitely needs to be some chemistry between the pair, but it can be a lot of fun if they really don’t get along at first.

I love a good love story! And I loved visiting the Eiffel Tower, although is was far too long ago. I think I need to revisit it soon. :)

I love the push-pull of a romance–those things that attract them to one another and those things that seem to pull them apart.

Very true, Valerie. :)

Oh, Stacy you are a lucky lady! I’ve never seen the Eiffel Tower in person. LOL maybe that’s why I have so many of them hanging around my house. :)
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
Yes, Cathy the tension between the characters is fun to read. :)

I love the tension between the main characters, as long as one of them doesn’t seem selfish, or immature. It’s got to be realistic enough to be believable. The two need to seem mature enough to be responsible in marriage. IF those elements are fine, then a little fighting along the way just let’s the reader know this will not be a boring couple.

What draws me into a romance is either something I can relate to or something that is pure fantasy for me. I like characters that are real feeling, even in a fantasy scenario. I like to see them have difficulty and overcome it. I love a happy ending…always. :)
