Hello all! Cheryl Wyatt here. I am so excited to let you know that I have a new book out.
The Hero’s Sweetheart released on Feb 1 from Love Inspired Books and is part of my Eagle Point Emergency series.
MORE ABOUT THE BOOK AND SERIES:
Titanium-willed military commander Jack Sullenberger has his rules. Small town waitress Olivia Abbott is about to break them all.
His Perfect Match
Military commander Jack Sullenberger is used to saving the day. But when his father has a stroke in his beloved small-town diner, it’s waitress and EMT student Olivia Abbott coming to the rescue. Jack rushes home to tend to his father and take over the business—running right into Olivia’s very strong opinions. The steely military man and the waitress can’t agree on what’s best for the restaurant. When Jack sees something that shakes his growing trust in Olivia, their undeniable connection is put to the test. But if Jack’s open to the truth, they’ll have a chance at finding a future together.
BACKGROUND:
This is book four of a series that features a rural trauma team. The series premise came about after my editors at LI asked me to try my hand at writing a medical-themed romance since I’m a longtime RN.
I wasn’t sure I’d enjoy that, since I’d worked in the health field for almost three decades, and writing about work seemed like…well more work! LOL. As it turned out, I LOVE writing about caregivers and caretakers. I’m so thankful my editors knew me/my writing better than I knew myself…and that they took a chance on me this way.
Since I wasn’t sure about veering from military-themed romances that my readers had come to expect from me, I compromised by making the medical personnel former combat veterans…even RN Kate Dalton (heroine from book 3: The Nurse’s Secret Suitor).
Book 1 is The Doctor’s Devotion, and book 2 is Doctor to the Rescue.
Those already familiar with my Eagle Point Emergency series may remember Sully’s diner-a common setting in which I liked to place my characters. This story takes place in and around Sully’s Diner and features Sully’s son, Jack Sullenberger.

How fun that they asked you about doing medical romance – that’s one type I always enjoy. I had these dreams of being a medical professional forever. Then I took biology. Yeah. No.

I’m working on a medical-heavy plot right now, and it’s hard! Of course, I have no medical background either. :) I’m glad this one worked out for you. Do you have all kinds of different medical plots running through your brain?

Hi Sally! That’s exciting to hear about your medical-themed plot! I’m glad. I can’t wait to read it! :-) I do have lots of medical scenarios running through my head. Some of them I can’t tap into because some of the stuff actually happened. LOL! But my mind is always spinning new ideas. I’m grateful to LI for opening up this new creative world to me. :-) I’m really enjoying writing medically themed stories.

I do love to read a medical themed book! My mom is a retired LPN & many of my family members are in the medical field. So maybe that plays a huge part in it :-) This one and the rest of the series sound like they need to be on my want-to-read list! Definitely going to check them out.
Congrats on the newest installment,Cheryl! I also enjoy small town settings centered around someplace in town (diner, library, etc). Those are the best in my opinion :-)
