Five years ago, I had two books under my belt as an author. I didn’t have much author community and my books weren’t selling.
I was still learning ALL the things (still am, as a matter of fact). But I felt the Lord calling me to step out in faith. I made my word of the year for 2019 BOLDNESS. I sent out an invitation to as many Christian Romance Authors as I could find, inviting them to join my crazy idea for a multi-author series. It was originally called “Crystal Ridge”…
Well, that turned into 18 books in the fictional town of Freedom, Colorado, with characters who were law enforcement, firefighters, covert operatives, doctors, EMTs, and bodyguards.
But after 18 books in the small town, the authors felt like we needed to move.
So in 2023, we moved a few hours west of Freedom to Redemption Ridge, Colorado.
We said farewell to one author and welcomed the amazing Emily Conrad into the fold. And from October – December of this year, these 6 authors released 6 books in this small ranching community! A new small town, with the same amazing community feel, plus new Christmas traditions and unique local shops and restaurants to visit. Plus…12 amazing men and women finding their happily ever after and strengthening their faith.
My book in the series, Marrying the Rancher’s Daughter, is a marriage of convenience story with some major “protector” vibes as Cassie Reynolds avoids an abusive ex — and talks professional bullrider (and employee on her dad’s ranch!) to marry her.
Remembering the Rancher (by Liwen Ho) is a fun twist on an amnesia story where the characters are already married (and not quite happily!).
Amending the Christmas Contract (by Hannah Jo Abbott) had Ruby Hayes and Levi Thompson pretending to date for the holiday season avoid their families meddling.
Wooing the Widower (by Elle E Kay) is a heartwarming over-50 romance where two worlds collide and result in the unexpected!
Dreaming about Forever (by Mandi Blake) is a bodyguard romance where America’s starlet takes refuge from her parents’ scandal and ends up falling in love with more than just the town of Redemption Ridge.
Bidding on a Second Chance (by Emily Conrad) features a local police officer and the girl who turned down his wedding proposal last year! Throw in a charity auction, tons of Christmas charm, and a spiritual message that will have your eyes a little watery… and it’s the perfect final book for this year’s installment of Redemption Ridge.
If you haven’t read any of these yet, we would love for you to take a little vacation to Western Colorado and visit our small town. They’re Christmas books, but we could all use a little extra Christmas Spirit during the rest of the year, right?
Have you read any of the Freedom Ridge or Redemption Ridge books? Which ones?

I’ve gotten the chance to read all of this year’s books and have loved them all.
I think the Christian encouragement without preaching and judgement that the characters show each other (and the reader) is a big reason why I love the series.

First I read all of the books in the Freedom Ridge collection and then I read all of the books set in Redemption Ridge. I found both series to be absolutely wonderful. I loved the small town feel of each community, the relationships among the people, and the strong element of faith woven into each book.
