By now, I’m sure you’ve figured out that authors love words. We love using them to tell stories and to bring encouragement. And we all have our favorites that we try and sneak into every story. Want to know one of mine?
Kaleidoscope.
Why? No idea except it immediately puts a picture in my head. And it’s fun to say.
As my next book releases, I’ve learned that there are three words I love to hear.
Happy Release Day.
Three tiny words that encompass months of work. They tell me that the book is finally ready to take its place in the world. I get absolutely giddy with excitement on release day.
Today I’m transferring that excitement to you with a giveaway!
Before we jump into that, can I give you a little bit about the book?
Yeah?
Awesome!
Here we go.
From Shore to Shore is a story about a water taxi captain and a marine biologist. Both have their own little bubbles. All they want is to live out what they have already designated as their perfect life. Cooper is striving for contentment in his singleness. Bree has determined that love is a trap meant to ensnare the unexpected.
God has His own set of plans for them both.
When Bree and Cooper are forced to work together, their fears play out against each other and all their well-laid plans go awry.
While writing this book, I spent a long, long time trying to get into these characters’ heads. I knew what they wanted, but I couldn’t break through the walls they’d built and get them to tell me what it would take to change their minds. Bree was an especially hard nut to crack. I think that’s where the title finally came into play. I love a title that ties into the book.
To enter for a chance to win an ebook copy of From Shore to Shore all you need to do is comment on this post. That’s it! Easy peasy.
And since I’m a naturally curious person, the question you can answer is this: Where is your favorite vacation spot?
Giveaway is open internationally. One winner will be chosen at random. Giveaway ends June 7 at 12:00am CST.

Congrats on your new release and like your word Kaleidoscope. It reminds me of the toy we had as a child where you look into the light and turn it for different patterns.
In Australia I like Perth and Western Australia the climate is nice and people friendly and my favourite cricket team play there. But If I could go every year I would go to Hawaii. I love layback lifestyle and the sunsets. I would however like to spend time away from Waikiki beach as its become very commercialised and there are spruikers everywhere trying to sell condo’s. The last time even the hotel I was in was pushing it. When they hear you don’t earn a lot then they leave you alone. (Only benefit of going to the 2 hour breakfast and talk is the free breakfast and discounted tours). I would love to spend some time on Kauai as its so pretty.

Wow, that pull quote hooked me in a major way. Now I have to read that book. Happy release day!
Hm, my favourite vacation spot… I’m not a beach person, although I’ve been to some gorgeous seaside spots. I prefer to visit places of historical significance. So, I’ll say London.
Jeannette Harbottle says
Congratulations on your release! The setting seems to be quite original, looking forward to reading it!
My favourite place to holiday is far from any water, it’s a game reserve where one can see a host of animals in their natural habitat and it’s far from the madding crowd. Fortunately, living in South Africa, there’s a wide variety to visit, some closer than others but all relaxing.

When we were much younger, my husband said all I needed was a blanket, a book and a beverage (my favorite was Tab…remember that first diet cola?) Still love water, but prefer it cooler.

For a girl who grew up on the prairies, I love the ocean and feel so at peace with the waves crashing into rocks nearby. My favorite place is on the west side of Vancouver Island on the wild Pacific. Throw in a whale watching tour, and I’m THERE!

Happy Release Day! If I had to pick just one favorite vacation spot, I’d have to say NW Georgia, where my extended family is. I love going to visit them, and I get to see mountains! I’d also have to say Texas, too, though, so I guess I can’t pick just one!! Though I also like Savannah.

I love those “hard to crack” characters because I know there are layers to peel back and that’s what endears them to me! Learning their backstory to what makes them the kind of people they are today is always the fun part for me….even when the writer puts them through the wringer. I love realistic feeling characters like this.
Favorite vacation spot is wherever my husband and I decide to go. Recently (the beginning of May), we vacationed on Orcas Island WA for eight days to celebrate our 25th anniversary that took place in April. It was absolutely one of the most beautiful places we’ve been to & the weather was perfect….not too warm & not too cold. We’ve been to many places like this, so I can’t really name a “favorite” destination, but I can name a “favorite” person to spend it with :-)
Ausjenny says
I love Canada and the western side. Didn’t see a lot of Vancouver Island but I would love to go back. It’s 9 years since I was there and I really want to go back. I love how in BC on the coast you have the Ocean and also the Mountains.
Debra Pruss says
My favorite vacation spot is Thomas/Davis/Canaan Valley, West Virginia. Thank you so much for sharing. God bless you.
