Hello, Inspy Romance readers. Are you ready for spring yet? I know I am.
Whether today is a great day at your house or not, we’re going to say it is (positive thinking). We’re breathing. Jesus is alive and loves us. Great reasons to be thankful not only today but every day. “This is the day the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Ps. 118:24, NLT)
And today is my birthday. I’m a day closer to old. Of course, I plan to always be a day closer and never actually reach it. :)
For my birthday, God sent me a gift–a day off. My guest, Lynnette Bonner, wanted to spotlight her newest release and share about a giveaway she’s doing, so she’s taking over for me.
But have no fear, I’ll be back next month (and you’ll get to see me on the Sunday Editions in March, too).
Have a gander at Lynnette’s latest novel, Soft Kisses and Birdsong.
Years ago, he walked away from the only woman he had ever loved because he feared she wouldn’t want a man who’d failed.
She numbly tried to move on with her life. And is finally beginning to feel she can face the future.
Zaire Breckenridge can’t believe it when her lout of an ex-husband walks back into her life, claiming he’s a changed man. Worse than his invading the sanctuary of her town—the town they both grew up in together—is the fact that he’s invading the peace she finds at church. There really ought to be a rule. The heartbreaker should never be allowed to move back to town.
Landon Breckenridge knows that he’s made a mess of his life. But he also knows that finally surrendering everything to Jesus was the best decision he ever made. He aims to be a better person, and certainly a better witness to his friends and those who watch his rock climbing show on TV. Now if only he can convince the woman he loves to take him back. But if she won’t? Will Jesus be enough?
Sometimes the river of life cascades into a torrent of white-water. And sometimes it levels out on the other side, flowing smooth and slow, like soft kisses…and birdsong.
Doesn’t it sound awesome? Pre-order your copy today by clicking here.
Lynnette is also doing a giveaway on her website. You can find more information here: http://www.lynnettebonner.com/pre-order/ She’s giving away a couple of great prizes…
BUT before you leave, don’t forget to comment for a chance to win one of Inspy Romance’s Birthday Bash Bundles. Remember, if you’re an international reader, make sure to indicate your country of residence in your comment.
Blessings,
Born and raised in Malawi, Africa. Lynnette Bonner spent the first years of her life reveling in warm equatorial sunshine and the late evening duets of cicadas and hyenas. The year she turned eight she was off to Rift Valley Academy, a boarding school in Kenya where she spent many joy-filled years, and graduated in 1990. That fall, she traded to a new duet—one of traffic and rain—when she moved to Kirkland, Washington to attend Northwest University. It was there that she met her husband and a few years later they moved to the small town of Pierce, Idaho. During the time they lived in Idaho, while studying the history of their little town, Lynnette was inspired to begin the Shepherd’s Heart Series with Rocky Mountain Oasis. Marty and Lynnette have four children, and currently live in Washington where Marty pastors a church.

Yay! I can hardly wait to read this one. Lynette is an excellent writer and I am so glad to see a new book close to release date.
Many Blessings!
Wemble says
Happy birthday Ginger:) I love that look at the positive, that even when life throws up difficulties, Jesus love us and we have breath!
Thanks Lynette for sharing about your new book, the title and cover are sweet:) I love to rock climb so the idea of a hero who has a climbing show sounds fun.
Blessings:)

Lynette,
My goodness!
What an exciting life you have had.
You should write a biography.
Renate says
Happy Birthday, Ginger. How fun to approach aging and life with a sense of humor. Best wishes and thanks for your delightful blog. So ready for spring. Yesterday it snowed, today temperatures are supposed to be in the upper fifties and rain. Welcome to the Midwest.
Welcome Lynette! Delightful title and cover. Story sounds inspiring. Best wishes on your release.

Happy birthday, Ginger!
Lynnette – I already have the first book in this series on my TBR list. I can’t believe the second one is almost out. I need to read faster! :)

Lynnette, you are a new author to me and this book sounds really interesting,
Paula Shreckhise says
Happy Birthday Ginger. Keep up the good work of homeschooling your kids. I did with all four and the youngest is now 26.
Lynette, this one looks so good!
Thanks for the post!
Sherri G says
Happy birthday, Ginger. We had a stressful week at our house last week, so we’re hoping for better times ahead. That being said, it could be a whole lot worse! I thank God He sees us through the bad times. Lynette, I read the first in this series in the Cherish box set. I’m looking forward to this new one. It sounds like another winner.
thequeenofquitealot says
Happy birthday Ginger and Lynette I haven’t read your books but this looks good- I love the theme and I’m a Washington girl myself so…
Beth Gillihan says
Happy Birthday Ginger! Lynette, this looks like a great book. I am so ready for Spring! Today’s high is supposed to be -1. It has been a long, cold winter! Have a great day!
Gingers219 says
I’ve read a few of her books, and I have to agree, Linda. Thanks for stopping by.
Gingers219 says
Thanks, Wemble. I love the title of her book as well. It’s unique and pulls me right in.
Gingers219 says
:D
Gingers219 says
Thanks, Renate. One may as well approach it with a sense of humor, because otherwise I’d be an old sourpuss and I never want to be that way.
No snow here, but my son told me this morning it’s supposed to be in the mid 70s today. I love the weather, but it’s too early. My plants will start blooming and then get hit by a frost or freeze, which will prevent them from being as pretty when spring really does show up. :(
Gingers219 says
Thanks, Elizabeth.
Lynette’s book wasn’t on my TBR list, but it is now. It intrigued me.
Gingers219 says
Thanks, Iraines. And I’m so glad we could introduce you to a new-to-you author. It’s so exciting to find someone new to read. *I was a voracious reader before becoming a writer, and I LOVED it when I found someone new.
Gingers219 says
Thanks, Paula. You were a pioneer, and I appreciate all the work that you guys had to go through. My oldest is 26, and I know how hard it was to find when I started to find people who didn’t look at me like I was crazy. ;)
Gingers219 says
Thanks, Sherri. I understand the meaning of stressful. I pray this week is MUCH improved.
Gingers219 says
Thanks, Queen. ;)
Gingers219 says
Thanks, Beth.
-1? GASP!!!
I just watched the weather. Today’s high is supposed to be 74, and we’re supposed to stay in the 70s through the beginning of March with no cold air on the horizon. I think I’m glad I don’t live where you do. I don’t care for the cold much. Then again I don’t care for Alabama summers much either. :D
Valerie Comer says
Happy Birthday, Ginger!!! I hope your day is happy and blessed.
Like some others mentioned, I read the first story in Lynnette’s series in the box set and am intrigued by the premise of the second one!

Lynnette Bonner says
We had snow here yesterday and sunshine today, though it it still COLD. And thank you. :)
Lynnette Bonner says
I so know how that goes! So many books I’d love to read, but so little time for casual reading. I hope you’ll enjoy it when you find the time for it. <3
Lynnette Bonner says
I hope you’ll enjoy the stories! :)
Lynnette Bonner says
Thank you, Paula. I’m a homeschooling Mom too, now. I did it with my boys in elementary and then sent them to a Christian school. But my daughter wanted to go back to homeschooling this year. I’m enjoying spending more time with her.

Who in their right mind, *doesn’t* enjoy a good old-fashioned,”Second Chance at Love” story? Seriously though, I do love an enthralling tale of forgiveness. There is nothing like a story of how we too can choose to live a forgiving life. Even when those around us don’t deserve it. Lord knows that neither do we.
Narelle Atkins says
Hi Ginger, Happy Birthday! :) Thanks for sharing Lynnette’s latest release with us.

Gingers219 says
Thanks, Susanne, and happy belated birthday to you.
MJSH says
Thanks for the post and the blurb about the book!
Trixi says
Reunion stories are some of my favorite ones. There’s always a reason why the couple didn’t make it & there is often a lot to work through to be at peace with one another. I’ve not read too many books about ex-spouses making a go of it again though, so this sounds intriguing! I’ll have to check out the giveaway :-)
Thanks for the book spotlight! Ginger, happy belated birthday, I hope it was a blessed day :-)
Sabrina Templin says
