I have a serious case of Spring fever! When I get like this it’s not good for anyone, especially my poor husband. I want to travel. Anywhere sounds good, but traveling is not an option at present. So I will instead try to appreciate the beauty around me and immerse myself in books that will take me away to a fictional world. Do you ever feel like you took a mini vacation after immersing yourself into a story that takes place in another part of the country?
I’m currently reading a book that takes place in Chicago and another one that take place in a small coastal town. It’s nice to at least mentally dive into a new place.
How about you? Can you escape by reading a book? Where was the last place a book took you?
If you are looking for an island escape, I recommend Island Refuge. Yes, that’s a shameless plug for my latest release, which is now available on Kindle Unlimited and reduced to only .99 cents May 21-23. Here is the Amazon link. http://amzn.to/1HUzjER

I feel the same way when it comes to spring fever. I reside in Virginia, but currently lost in the Ozarks by book. Hoping to take a real trip soon out west. Maybe that will quench the spring fever, and settle me down for summer!

I’ve never been to the Ozarks, beechtreehollow. I hope it’s a nice adventure. :)
Where out West are you hoping to go? I want to go to Disneyland, but that’s not happening.

Right now I’m in the middle of the Iditrod where Dani Pettri takes us in the last of her Alaskan Courage book series! And, boy, is it ever cold….I’m glad I don’t have to literally be there, I’m none to fond of cold :-D
I really enjoy when a book draws me into the story and I can see myself in whatever State or Country or even time period the author takes you! No long lines at the airport, no having to go through security, or waiting to board a cruise ship…..you are instantly there! I especially like historical fiction and learning about the times, places and people.
I hope you are able to escape for even just a day trip soon, Kim! Even for just a few hours is so refreshing :-) But barring that, I hope a good book can draw you in and keep you there for a few hours!

oops, that should be Dani Pettrery….sorry!!

I have spring fever too, but I’m lucky to live in the MO Ozarks where spring is the most beautiful time of year. It’s the one time I don’t really want to leave town and miss something blooming. Your new release looks interesting – I’ll be sure to grab it when it’s 99 cents! Thanks!

Hi Trixi O. Brr some books are best left to the imagination, although it would be fun to be there cheering them on at the finish line. :) Good point about long lines!
I hope to get away for a day soon, but may be summer before that happens.
Thanks for sharing!

Diane, when you said you live in the Ozarks I immediately thought of another readers reply. The book she is reading takes place there. It sounded like she is enjoyed the virtual vacation. :)
I hope you enjoy my book.:) Thanks!
