2018 has started off slow and steady for me. Our weather here in Oregon is mild this year, which I appreciate after last year’s snow and ice. The only downside is the mild weather gives me spring fever. LOL As I write this it’s still January. I think I have a problem. But I will keep the following quote in mind no matter what the weather outside looks like.
I began this year with the plan to slow down. I feel like I’ve found a good balance between too much and not enough. If I don’t have enough to do, I procrastinate and accomplish very little, which is why I ended up adding a book to my publishing schedule. The only problem is ALL three books are due at the same time. But since they are all due by September it’s really not a big deal, and it will give me a breather come fall.
I also decided to have new covers made for my Melodies of Love series. I absolutely love them! Special thanks to my wonderful cover designer Jackie Castle of Castle Creations and one of our regular bloggers here on the inspy romance blog. :)
As I mentioned in the opening of the blog post I have spring fever. I enjoy dreaming about traveling. I’m reading a lot more right now so I’m at least taking virtual vacations. So far this year I’ve been to Main, NY, and a small town in the middle of no where thanks to the novels I’ve read. Which leads me to my question today.
If you could take a dream vacation where would you go? Or where have you been via the novels you’ve read so far this year?

Hi Kimberly, I LOVE the new covers, you and Jackie are both very talented! I get spring fever regularly in winter- always at the beginning of August when I realise there are only 4 more official weeks of winter left, but I want it to warm up now!!
My dream holiday- the Holy Lands and Eastern Europe- Czechoslovakia, Poland, Hungary, all the places I have taught about. And some of the significant places for the American Revolution (which I am teaching right now, we are just looking at the Revenue Acts!!) like Boston, Lexington etc.
Living in Australia means flying anywhere is super expensive, so books are a fantastic way to ‘travel’ to loads of places.
Blessings:)

Hi Kimberly! The new covers look whimsical and fun! The yellow tulips have me wishing for spring has we experiencing another cold snap and more snow in SW Michigan. Through my reading I have traveled coast to coast and Great Britain. Been reading a lot of historical romances. Not sure I would want to live without central heating and modern transportation. My dream vacation is to take an extended vacation through Europe – Ireland, France, Hungary, Austria. Switzerland is my favorite country with its Alpine villages and pristine lakes nestled in the Swiss Alps. Been fortunate to have traveled coast to coast and nine foreign countries on three continents. Best wishes.

Kimberly, since I’m too fair to lay out on a sunny beach, my dream vacation is a month or more roaming through England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, soaking up the history and atmosphere.
Love the new covers!

It’s nice to know I’m not alone in my spring fever. :) Going to Boston and the East coast in general is something I’m tossing around. I’ve even looked into a cruise that goes around New England.
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
Wow, Renate. You are well traveled. I’ve also tossed around the idea of traveling in Europe. My problem is I want to see too many places lol. I want to go everywhere you listed, plus Germany.
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
That sounds wonderful, Barbara! Beach vacations are not idea for me either as I have the same problem. I will burn in ten minutes. I’ve even burned on the Oregon coast!

My dream vacation would be to Israel. I love traveling through what I read, and I’ve recently been to Eureka, California through Angel Ruth Strong’s book, and the hills of Kentucky through Ann Gabhart’s book.
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
I know so many people who have been to Israel. I hope you get to go some day!

I love the picture and quote. Yes, right now it all spring fevers here are in books. Here we get a cold snap and than warmer days. It would be nice to have one or the other. Oh well. It is what it is and we deal with it. No complaining allowed. I just finished being in warm Texas with two books. Woohoo

The new covers look beautiful! If I could go anywhere, it would definitely be somewhere warmer right now. Maybe visit Florida, since I’ve never been there? I’m like you, though, I already have spring fever. lol
Margaret Nelson says
California is having a February heat wave right now – it’s supposed to get up to 80 degrees F here today! I’m enjoying the warm weather, but we sure need more rain!
I have too many places I want to go for vacation! It turns out this summer we will be going to Hong Kong and Cambodia.
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
I love how we get to travel through books, Lori!
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
Thanks! It’s horrible to already have spring fever. I wish I wasn’t like this.
Florida sounds wonderful!
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
Wow, Margaret, now those are two places I haven’t considered. My grandma used to travel to Hong Kong quite a bit when I was a little girl, but I’m not a big fan of hot humid weather, and I feel like it would be like that there–I have no idea if I’m right.
I was down in SoCal in December visiting my son. It was hot then too, but not uncomfortably so.

My dream vacation would be to go to a spa where I don’t have to cook, don’t have to pick up after anyone else, and finally have some time to myself.
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
That sounds wonderful!

I live on the Oregon coast Kimberly, and while we too are enjoying mild weather, it makes me wonder how Spring & Summer will be. I don’t want a super hot one like we had last year! I’d rather be too cold than too hot…lol!
If money were no object, I’d travel with my husband to New Zealand where my mom and her newlywed husband lives. It’s such a beautiful country from all the pictures she’s sent me and all the places she talks about visiting! I’d gladly play tourist and let them be our guide :-)
I love those beautiful new covers on your books! Especially on A Love Song for Kayla, puts me in the mood for Spring, my favorite season :-)
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
Thanks, Trixi.:) I’d rather be cold than hot too. I wonder if that’s an Oregon kind of thinking.
Margaret Nelson says
Yes, Hong Kong and Cambodia will be hot and humid in July. We aren’t going because of the weather, that’s for sure! We have a meeting to attend, and lots of friends to visit.

It’s so hard to choose where I would want to go but right now anywhere warm and sunny would fit the bill.
Walter Daniels says
It would be to visit my adopted sister and her daughters, who are the “daughters of my heart.” (Thank you David Weber for that phrase.)
Kimberly Rose Johnson says
Sounds like a nice thing to do. :)
