Sometimes things just don’t go as expected. Ever have a week like that? Around here, my son, chief caretaker of their four-year-old, had day surgery on his nose… so guess who had a lot of kid time this week so Daddy could recuperate? It wasn’t how I’d planned my week, but precious all the same, and far more important than turning my to-do list into a to-done list. (My son will be fine, by the way.)
I often get very caught up in what I’m supposed to be doing. Jogging around on my hamster wheel! Yes, I believe that what God’s called me to do — writing stories for Him — is very important, but sometimes I lose sight of the goals and the eternal value in light of today’s tasks. Here’s my challenge to you… and to me:
I am sprinting toward the only goal that counts: to cross the line, to win the prize, and to hear God’s call to resurrection life found exclusively in Jesus the Anointed.

Love that verse- so easy to get caught up in the everyday ‘stuff’, work that seems never ending…family commitments etc. that it is easy to lose sight of the bigger picture, the real, true goal that we are working towards. Thanks for the reminder, glad your son is well and you could have some quality ‘kid’ time:)
Renate says
Blessings to you and your family, Valerie! Praises that your son is healing quickly and you were able to have some kid time. Our children and grandchildren grow up way to fast and we often loose perspective as we rush through our day to day chores, work commitments, and family responsibilities. So important to keep keep ourfocus on heaven. Beautiful fall photos of colorful foliage, bountiful harvest, and gorgeous mums! Best wishes as you look forward to Canadian Thanksgiving! So much to be thankful for!

Thanks, Renate. His healing isn’t super speedy, but it’s definitely coming. He’ll be glad to have the stints out in a few days and hopes he’ll feel much better after that. Even so, YES!!!! SO much to be thankful for. Every day.

I don’t believe anyone makes it permanently, this side of heaven;that’s why Paul said, “I strive to reach…” To me that means, to work at it & not give up trying!
Sally Shupe says
Keep your eye on the goal, great advice!

Sorry so late commenting! We got back from vacation late Tuesday night due to flight delays and I’m STILL trying to recoup! I’m discovering that I am not as young as I used to be…sheesh.
Anyway, happy very late SONday everyone!
