Christmas is around the corner.
All the gifts are purchased. Most of them are even wrapped.
Life is good, and everything is in order.
Of course, then the freezer went out, and I had to figure out what to do with everything that was in it. So we had turkey for dinner this past Monday. And leftovers on Tuesday. And…more leftovers still sitting there waiting for me to do something magical with them. (Turkey vegetable soup is on the agenda.)
Of course, now I’m going to have to go buy something to fix for Christmas dinner, and nobody’s going to be in the mood for another turkey. So it’s looking like ham this year… ;)
Then, last night, on my way to small group, I got lost. It took me an extra twenty minutes driving around out in the middle of the woods before I finally managed to loop back around far enough to find the road I wanted to turn on to get me back somewhere that I knew. Only, I turned the wrong way on that road and lost another twenty minutes. And did I mention that I don’t have heat in my van? And that it was below freezing outside? And that I’ve driven that same route a kazillion times and have NEVER gotten lost before?
It’s been that kind of week. But God is still God. He’s still on His throne, and I am still blessed to be His. Remembering that keeps it all in perspective, doesn’t it?
What do you do when your day, week, or month turns crazy on you? How do you keep yourself centered and focused on the One who has it all under control?
Blessings!
Heather

Too often, when things go a different way than I had planned, I start to worry. However, when I pause and pray and put my trust in God, a comfort comes over me. :-)
Heather Gray says
Prayer is ALWAYS a good answer! ^_^
Marylin Furumasu says
I’d like to say I don’t panic, but I can’t. I’m really good at worrying, yet I know that’s not what I should do. I’m tying to work on handing it all over to God first, then trusting He’s got it all under control and I don’t need to fret.
Not an easy thing to do and Satan likes to throw it in my face.
I trying!
Julianne Archer says
At first, I’m sorry to say,I vent. Then apologize to God and talk it out with him. Prayer helps me realign my thoughts/will to His.
