Hi everyone!
Here in the US, Thanksgiving is almost upon us. And while the picture is probably a Christmas dinner (’cause I don’t know about you, but we don’t do crackers at Thanksgiving. And most Americans probably don’t even do them at Christmas, but we always have because who doesn’t love a paper crown?) I’m looking forward to our annual gathering with extended family for the sole purpose of being thankful to God for our blessings.
In our family, we all get together at my parents’ house — so it’s my family of four, my sister and her husband, my parents, and then also my in-laws (all four as my husband’s sisters also live in the area.) I think it’s lovely that everyone gets along well enough that we can get together in one big group on the holidays and not have to figure out an alternating schedule that doesn’t leave anyone feeling slighted. Even though we’re at my mom’s, I’ll be the one doing the bulk of the cooking – because I love it and basically no one else enjoys the slightest bit of time in the kitchen.
However you celebrate (or don’t celebrate for our international friends), I hope your week is full of reminders of God’s goodness to you.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving! We have crackers at Christmas because they are fun, the boys love the ‘toys’ that are inside and of course, the paper crowns!!
We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here, but in the spirit of being thankful…I am thankful for good books, my family, more good books, health and of course…access to good books :) Blessings to you and yours.

I’m thankful we will see our kids soon. We’re flying to Nashville and then all driving to Kentucky to be together for thanksgiving at my oldest daughter’s house. Our pastor preached an interesting sermon on thanks living. It is a good way to live.
