Happy April!
When I was younger, my dad had several cages of goldfinches. It was fun to watch the birds fly around and, periodically, there would be tiny little finch eggs in one of their nests. And that’s what those jelly beans brought to mind. (Not that finch eggs are pastel, they aren’t. It’s more the size. And just how cute they are. Maybe it’s just me.) Either way, with it now being officially spring, it is also officially pastel color season as well. (I’m making that up. I don’t think there is an official season for pastels. I can’t wear them, personally, but I have no problem with people who can pull them off doing so all year long.) Are you a pastel person?

Wemble says
Hi Elizabeth:) Your photo reminds of Easter egg hunts- we usually spend the Easter weekend camping, and have lots of fun hiding eggs around the campsite for the boys to find.
Hmm, I like pastels, and wear some…funny how we like certain colours and our wardrobes reflect this!
Blessings:)
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Hiding eggs at a campsite is a whole extra level of challenge! I think pastels are pretty — and I might be a teensy bit jealous of people who can pull them off :)
Renate says
Hi Elizabeth. When I was younger, I enjoyed wearing pastels during spring & summer. Now I enjoy bolder colors. I use pastels in decorating (wall colors with bold accents). When the children were younger I did more for Easter. Since I see the grandkids daily, They will be celebrating Easter with their parents and other grandparents. Best wishes and congratulations to the winner.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
How fun that you get to see the grandkids so often, even if it means you miss Easter.
Winnie Thomas says
I’m hoping that spring is finally here, but here in northern Utah, you never know! I love pastel colors, but I don’t wear them much. The jewel tone colors look better on me.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
I look better in jewel tones as well. And having grown up in northern New Mexico, I understand the idea of early spring being iffy! :)
Winnie Thomas says
Well, it just started hailing a few minutes ago! LOL Guess spring isn’t quite here yet!
Alexa Verde says
I agree with Wemble. I thought of Easter eggs, too.
Alexa Verde says
Thank you, Elizabeth! And congratulations to the winners!
Linda Herold says
I like pastels on little girls. I tend to wear blues and blacks now! Happy Spring!
Jessica B. says
I love goldfinches. I have a thistle feeder in my yard to try and attract them, but they only come every once in a while. I would love to see one of their nests. I can’t imagine how small the eggs must be.
