Hi Heather, happy mother’s day to you also:) My mum and my god-mum are both very special to me. My mum is a woman of prayer and hard work and has taught me the value and importance of both. My god-mum opened her heart and family to me and shares my love of books (as does my mum) and has taught me how important it is to be calm and look at things from different perspectives.
Blessings:)

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

Hi Heather! Happy Mother’s Day to all our inspiring authors and their readers! My mother and grandmothers lived through perilous times during WW2 Germany with determination and tenancity. Though my grandmothers were two very different ladies according to their religious values, both loved me aa lot. My mother was a godly woman and loved to read, garden, cook and bake. As an adult, I shared my books with her. She definitely supported me and my family!
Heather Gray says
What wonderful women to have in your life! They both sound like they passed on to you the very best of who they are. What a blessed legacy you have!
Heather Gray says
Thank you so much Sabrina! Happy Mother’s Day to you as well.
Heather Gray says
Oh wow! Talk about a rich history. I’ll bet “determination and tenacity” barely scratches the surface of who your grandmothers were. I’m so glad you had a chance to know them and to learn from them! Your mother sounds marvelous, too. How blessed you are to have been loved so completely!
L. Marie says
Happy Mother’s Day to you!
My mother’s walk with Jesus is what has influenced me. When I rebelled against God, my mother’s faith and prayers drew me back toward God. My primary Sunday school teacher also was a huge influence on my life.

Happy Mother’s Day to you and any Moms reading this!!!
Margaret Nelson says
I’m thankful for a lot of women who have influenced me. I miss my mom, who has been in heaven for 11 years now. My aunt (my dad’s sister) lives across the driveway and is almost 92. We’ll be celebrating Mother’s Day with her today. Another aunt (one of my mom’s sisters) lives about 3 hours away, and we visit her several times a year. Then there’s lots of godly women who have poured into my life. Lots of blessings!
Heather Gray says
I’m so glad you had such beautiful influences in your life – what a blessing!
Heather Gray says
Thank you so much Jackie! The same to you.
Heather Gray says
Thank you for stopping by today Margaret! I hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day with your aunt!
Winnie Thomas says
My mother was one of the most compassionate people I’ve known. She was always doing things for others. She took food to widows and widowers, sick neighbors, or . . . just because. She had nine children but always had time to listen and help anyone.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Gail Estes Hollingsworth says
Happy Mothers Day Heather!
I’ve recently had to move my mother in with us because it is no longer safe for her to be by herself. She took care of me growing up and now it’s my turn to do the same for her.
Patty says
I am not a Mom, but I have a Mom that I think is pretty special! In a time where she should be relaxing and enjoying retirement she is always helping others.
She and my Dad are involved in the JOY (Just Older Youth) club at church, and have recently noticed that some of the widow ladies in the church may need help with things around the house, but hate to ask for help. Recently she has been helping a widow lady (who is younger than my Mom) with getting her yard/flower beds neatened up. Gardening is one of my Mom’s loves… this widow lady calls my Mom her ‘Garden Angel’ . I am so proud to call her my Mom.
Heather Gray says
Winnie – your mother sounds wonderful! She sounds like a wonderful example of all of us who let ourselves get too busy with life to get out there and live it by connecting with and caring for other people.
Heather Gray says
What a blessings – both for your mom and for you – that you are able to do that!
Heather Gray says
What a loving and precious example your parents are! So often, people reach a certain age and decide that they don’t have anything left to offer. But that’s not Biblical. As long as there is breath in our body, there will be people for us to serve and help and love in the name of Christ. Both of your parents sound like they’re doing exactly that! (And I could use a garden angle, too. Not because I’m a widow, though. Just because growing weeds where plants are supposed to be seems to be a special talent of mine…) ^_^
Paula says
My Mother is 100 years old and in a nursing facility 9 hours away. She has had a little health trouble lately but sounded much more like herself last week. She and my sister wrote and published a book last year, when she was. 99. It really took years. It is a memoir of her childhood growing up as a missionary ‘s kid in China. She was a writer and editor for David C. Cook Publishing when she met my father, who coincidentally was the manager of the shipping department years later! My brother worked there as an artist after I got married and moved away . My son is an art director for a company in Southern Missouri, so he helped with the book, too! It was so great having the memories put in book form, after hearing the stories as I was growing up. Happy Mother’s Day to everyone! Blessings.
Heather Gray says
Oh wow Paula! What a rich history you have! I have a relative who immigrated with her family from China when she was in gradeschool, and her stories of her early years in China (some 70 years ago) were always fascinating. I’m sure your mom’s book is captivating!
