It’s the last Sunday of January.
Wrap your mind around that for a moment.
How’s your first month of 2018 been? Mine has been super speedy. (I think it means I’m getting old. The days just fly past and I stop sometimes and scratch my head and wonder where they went.) My eldest boy turned 10 this past month and my youngest will be 6 this week and it’s all just going entirely too fast!

Hi Elizabeth, I’m with you- January went waaaay faster than normal!! My oldest turns 10, and youngest 8 later in the year- can’t believe how quickly they are growing up. Happy Birthday to your boys:)
We have had a few days of unseasonably humid weather- makes me very grateful for air-conditioning, beaches, rivers…pools…and fans!!
Blessings)
Elizabeth Maddrey says
You know, since we’re on opposite sides of the Earth, maybe this is proof that it IS going faster than usual ;)
Happy birthday to your kiddos! Hug that double digits kiddo just a little longer (if you can catch ’em, mines starting to get slippery, roll his eyes, and say, “aw, mom” when i try :) )
Also yes, yay for AC. Especially on humid days. Blerg.

Hi Elizabeth! January seemed to whiz by. First we were homebound with freezing temperatures and icy snowy nasty roads. Then due to colds and the flu. We also celebrated birthdays. My youngest son turned 28. Oh how the time flies. Unfortunately we have not been able to visit with him because of the weather, illness and his work schedule. He is working double shifts due to an ill coworker. My daughter in law celebrated her birthday with her father and her daughter (our granddaughter), who celebrated her first birthday. All the grandkids (ages 12, 10, 4, and 1) have been ill with nasty colds and / or the flu. I am so ready for warmer temperatures, sunshine, and spring. But unfortunately we have two more months of winter, grime, and gloom in SW Michigan. Best wishes to you and your family. Enjoy your kids while they are young. Kids definitely grow up fast.

Where did this past year go?! I agree that it seems like it went by very quickly. Our oldest will be 39 this year!!!!! How is that possible? Memories are our precious treasures! It is still fun to see their lives unfold before us, seeing what God has in store for each one. As my friend once told me, our knees become more scarred from praying after they leave the nest. Have a restful Saturday!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Oh my! All that illness is no fun! My hubby had the flu last week and it knocked him flat for five solid days. I’m so grateful to God no one else got it.
Hope everyone is better soon!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Aw I love your friend’s thought.
If life had gone to my plan, we’d have a 20, 18, and 16 year old. But I look at my boys and know God knew best. I wouldn’t trade my family for having it my way, even with all the heartache that those extra 10 years included.

I know. Where did January go? Seems like I had little time to myself. Happy birthday to both of your children. I have a son who’s birthday is Jan. 8th. He is 32 years old now. I remember when he was born, at 7:15pm. All the nurses where making this huge fuss over him. I mean a really huge fuss. Finally I asked and turns out in that hospital, he was the first boy born on Elvis Presley’s birthday. LOL Wow did I get a tickle out of that. LOL still do. Hope your Sunday is restful.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Aw, that’s hilarious and sweet. :)

Yes time flies. We’ve been visiting our youngest helping get household chores caught up this weekend. She just had her first child by a csection due to pre-eclampsia. The baby is a teeny 5 pounds 2 ounces. I’m blessed we’re able to help them. The baby is cute!

I thought this month had less on the calendar, but every day filled up and it just zipped by! I’m not ready for February yet!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Oh I’m so glad you’re able to help too! My cousin had preeclampsia with her first, she was 2 pounds and 26 weeks. Now she’s nearly 13 and a lovely young lady.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
I’m not either!

I’m surprised I got a lot of books read this month. Good thing because I increased my reading challenge for this year. Our daughter will give us our eighth grand baby in March. My mother turned 101 this month , my aunt is 99 and my Mother – in – law is 98. Other things this year seem to be flying! Happy heading!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Oh congrats on the upcoming grandbaby! And to your mom, aunt, and mother-in-law!! Wow.
And yay for books getting read :)
