The Canadian province of Saskatchewan is known as the Land of Living Skies, so I want to show you a few of the sky photos I took on our recent visit. As you might recall, I live in British Columbia, surrounded by mountains, lakes, and forests. These make my heart happy! But, because of the mountains, a whole lot less of the sky is visible in BC than in Saskatchewan, and it was fascinating to watch storms rolling in from a distance, or just to see the clouds at play. There’s a beauty all its own.

Hi Valerie, beautiful photos. I love big skies:) Saskatchewan (in fact all of Canada) looks beautiful!
My husband took the boys cross country skiing today- absolutely magic conditions which are pretty rare here, so we take advantage of them. Great, powder snow, light winds- they had an awesome time and I thoroughly enjoyed a day of quiet to myself to recharge:)
Blessings:)
Hi Valerie! Thanks for hosting this month’s Sunday blog with your beautiful and inspiring vacation pictures. Being located in SW Michigan on a bluff over the wide expanse of Lake Michigan we have big skies often with interesting and unique cloud formations. Wishing you a restful Sunday. Best wishes.
What beauty! Thank you for sharing!!
Beautiful pics!
Hi Wemble! When our kids were 8 and 5, we moved to a place with tons of snow all winter. We decided to embrace the Winter Wonderland, bought four sets of cross-country skis, and started our kids in the local Jackrabbit program. We all loved cross-country skiing! In recent years, we do a lot more snowshoeing, though.
Although, I must say, a day of quiet alone for recharging is also perfect.
Happy Sunday, Renate! I’ve visited my sister in Racine a few times (not for several years) and concur about the amazing skies there… and the gorgeous lake!
You’re welcome!
I’m glad you enjoyed them!
Beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing. In our move from northern Virginia to Kentucky we’re enjoying watching the skies. We have a nice view out our back windows. There are only one story houses so the sky is open.
Congrats on your new home! I hope you enjoy your new location. :)
Thanks for sharing your Saskatchewan photos, Valerie! We lived in Moose Jaw from 2005-2006 when my husband did pilot training for the Air Force and we loved it. There’s something so majestic about those clouds rolling in across the endless horizon. We live in
Manitoba now. Nice to see another Canadian author!
Beautiful pictures! I love seeing God’s creation around our great planet.
Lovely pictures! Such wide open spaces. We were just looking at the sky yesterday. I love the colors of summer and the contrast of the blue sky and the green trees.
Beautiful pictures, Valerie!
I enjoy the pictures you share, Valerie. You could be a pro photographer. If you had time to be that and an author :)
Welcome, Laurie! I was born and raised in Manitoba. My parents moved to BC when I was 14.
Isn’t it amazing?!?
So much goes on in the sky, if we only just look up!
Thank you!
Thank you! I love to dabble. :)
These photos remind me of rural Kansas, where I live. I love being able to see the sky. It is beautiful and always changing.
