This weekend in Australia we’re thankful that Cyclone Oma is not looking like it will make landfall in South East Queensland (Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast). The beaches are closed, cruise ships are being diverted away from Brisbane, and coastal flooding is a major concern. The wet season has lived up to its name in parts of Northern Australia this year. Later this week I’ll be celebrating my birthday and saying goodbye to summer. I’m sure many of you are glad to be welcoming spring next weekend.

We are having a heatwave this week right up to Sunday where it will go down to around 27 but before that we are expecting two days of 40.
Happy Birthday for Friday.
Hi Narelle, Happy upcoming Birthday:) Totally agree- I cannot believe we are coming to the end of February already! I am very thankful Cyclone Oma has moved away- I think there has been quite enough rain around QLD!! After a couple of mild weeks, it looks like our last week of Summer will be reasonably warm down here. We are harvesting loads of cucumbers and basil (so making pesto to freeze) and the last of our peaches and nectarines.
Blessings:)
This morning month has really flown by but I am so glad spring is almost here because I am tired of snow and ice.
Happy birthday! And enjoy your last bit of summer. Can’t wait for springtime in US…
Happy early birthday, Narelle! Glad to hear you are safe from the storm. I am so happy that be a part of Inspy and love the new look!
Happy Birthday, Narelle! WHERE did February go?!!!
Hi Narelle! So I hear Happy Birthday is coming. Mine was this month also. Looks like February is a good month. With InSpy romances Birthday also.
Down here in Texas, we are already experiencing some warm to hot days. ?
I hope yours is better.
Happy Birthday to you and InSpy romance.
Blessings
Kathy
We’re in the middle of a snowstorm. Highways are closed; church is cancelled. I’ve got an apple pie baking and brought out a puzzle to do this afternoon.
Birthday blessings!!!!
Hi Narelle. Happy Birthday blessings!!! Glad you are safe from the storm. Here in the Midwest we are all looking forward to spring. Today we had high wind warning with gusts up to 50 mile per hour. Up in northern part of state they are getting snow as well. Calling for a white out where you cannot see at all when driving. Very dangerous.
I love Carol Moncado royalty series.
Congrats to the winners. Hope you have a fantastic weekend. We got so much rain yesterday and now supposed to get snow tonight. And yesterday and today the winds are horrendous. Oh well, soon it will be spring. Something to look forward to.
Hi All,
I’ve been gone for a while but I’m back now.
I really enjoy this site and all the book stuff I get from it!
Thanks for all the wonderful books you share with us!
The month HAS flown by but I am looking forward to spring. I hope you have a happy birthday week!
So anxious for spring. Love working outside.
Happy early birthday! I hope you have a great day.
We are enjoying a taste of sunshine today. It finally quit raining. We’ve had so much rain, we’ve had frequent flood warnings here for n Kentucky.
Glad you are not in the path of a cyclone. After a chilly, damp week, we had a picture perfect day today in Texas.
Here in Southern Minnesota we spent the weekend on Blizzard warning and it basically shut down the entire southern section of the state. Most all roads are closed and school tomorrow has been cancelled due to impassable roads. It feels like winter will never end. We have been slammed over and over this month.
Hi Jenny, The heatwave will be starting in Canberra later in the week. I’m in Sydney atm for work and the weather is beautiful here. My apologies to everyone for being late in replying to comments. Sunday in the US is Monday in Australia and I’ve been non-stop busy today. Will be catching up on comments later tonight.
Jenny, Thanks for the birthday wishes. :)
Hi Wemble, I’m glad your garden is providing a bountiful supply of fresh fruit & veg. Homemade pesto is delicious! Thanks for the birthday wishes. :)
Hi Lori, I can understand why you’re looking forward to spring! Enjoy the warmer weather heading your way. :)
Hi MJSH, Thanks for the birthday wishes. Ironically March will bring a return to hot summer weather (90+F). February is usually the hottest month of summer, but this year January has stolen that crown and the start of March isn’t far behind. :)

Hi Jackie, Thanks for the birthday wishes :) February is the shortest month of the year, and it always seems to fly by quickly!
Hi Kathy, Happy Birthday to you! I associate Texas with hot weather (I’ve visited in San Antonio in July) and was surprised to learn it also snows there. Thanks for the birthday wishes. :)
Hi Arletta, Wow, that doesn’t sound fun. Definitely a day for baking apple pie! Stay safe and warm. :)
Thanks, Natalya :)
Hi Pat, We rarely have snow that stays on the ground longer than an hour, and driving in heavy snow and snowstorms is a scary thought. Stay safe. Thanks for the birthday wishes. :)
