Happy March!
We’ve got two weeks left in this year’s Birthday Bash! I’ve loved (and I know the other authors have as well) seeing all the comments on all the posts. I hope some of you who are new (or who usually lurk) will keep on commenting when the bash is over.
I don’t have any fun snow or vacation pictures to share with you this month unfortunately. (And man, I really would love to go on a vacation somewhere–anywhere–right now. So I’m as bummed by that as you are.)
Hopefully we’ll start seeing a few signs of spring in the next weeks. I imagine we’d all love those first little green shoots – even if we know they aren’t going to stick around permanently.

Cassandra Myers says
Here in southern MN have nothing but snow and the idea of green seems a distant dream. I was supposed to get a chance to have my first vacation since I was 17, but it fell through so still stuck here in the miserable snow and cold.
Linda Rainey says
I am like you, ready to see Spring.
Wemble says
Hi Elizabeth, hope you’ve had a peaceful weekend. We have had a very hot last few days- it has led to some pretty serious bushfires in the south east; needless to say, everyone is looking forward to the cool change that is supposed to move across in the next few hours. Autumn certainly started off hot, but even still, I’m not sure I’m ready for the cold and grey of winter.
Blessings:)
Lori R says
I am so ready for spring! We are expecting more snow today.
Renate says
Hi Elizabeth! So tired of Michigan winter. While we have not had a lot of snow, the fluctuating temperatures made it seem long. Looking forward to spring. Comments on the blog are fun to read. Best wishes and thanks for your dedication to the Inspy Romance readers.
Betty says
Hope the groundhog was right; an early spring would be so nice. We have blowing snow and freezing temps in Oklahoma, which is nowhere near what the rest of the country has had, but isn’t any fun. Good weather for reading!
Jimette Ross says
We are expecting more snow this afternoon. I have seen the tulips started to poke out of the ground. When I see first Robin is when I get excited!
Paula Marie says
Our crazy Florida weather has us in the 80s one day and down to the 30s the next….I have a hibiscus bush that has been blooming then freezing, poor thing!
Hope you get to take a vacation soon!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Ohh…how disappointing :( I’m sorry things fell through.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
I did see a few brave crocus tips yesterday! So maybe spring is showing up after all. Of course, it’s supposed to snow all day starting at 10 am so I guess we’ll see.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Oh ugh. Definitely time for a break from the heat! I’m never ready for summer – so i try not to skip two seasons ahead when we get to this part of the year. Maybe a bit like not being ready for winter :)
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Us too. I’m kind of hoping the weather folks are wrong.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Our temperatures always seem to be dramatic this time of year -mid20s and grey one day, 65 and sunny the next. No wonder we all walk around with sniffles!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
It IS good reading weather. That’s a nice positive spin.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
We had robins in early February – I’m not sure what they’re doing this year. :)
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Oh man – that’s a massive switch! I thought 30 to 65 was bad. Stay healthy!
Lori Smanski says
Hope your Sunday is special and God speaks something in your heart.
Here in Illinois, we got a lot of snow and temps were down in the negatives. Than up in the 30’s and 40’s. We have little hills of snow dotted around. Now it is going down into the teens and snow is expected from Thursday through Sunday. I really am ready for Spring.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Thanks, Lori! You too :)
And I think we’re all in that “ready for spring (or fall for the southern hemisphere folks)” mindset. :)
Valerie Comer says
Here is my part of Canada, we had the biggest dump of snow of snow for the winter (about 24″ in 24 hours) just before Valentine’s Day. None has melted. This weekend we are getting -20 – -27C (-4 – -16F) with wind chills so, yes, we’re ready for spring weather, too!
On the other hand, my 6yo granddaughter is bummed that the ski hills will be closing in a few weeks. They’ve been getting a lot of skiing in this winter, and she loves it.
Bernice Kennedy says
I live in Oklahoma and our weather is very unpredictable. I woke up to a dusting of snow, very windy and very cold temps. Great weather for staying inside reading not so much for taking my daughter on golf cart rides. Loving the Birthday Bash! Happy Birthday!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Skiing can be fun! Sounds like you should get a little longer at it if nothing is melting though. :)
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Oh yeah – wind and golf carts aren’t the best combination. But it IS good reading weather.
Jackie Smith says
So ready for Spring here in GA! No snow but LOTS of rain!
Kerri Norrod says
Hi Elizabeth! I live in Texas and the weather is unpredictable. One day it might be 40 and the next day 60. I have so enjoyed getting to know new authors and the birthday bash!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
It has been wet all over! I’m hopeful that means no drought this summer.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
That sounds like here! And yes! I love how even I find new authors here :)
Natalya Lakhno says
I’m so ready for summer lol and school to be over….
Wish you all a blessed week!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Haha. My kids are so jealous of people who don’t school year round, until they realize we get time off that others don’t.
MJSH says
Sigh. We are expecting snow and deep freeze for the next week. Hoping for spring soon!
Patty says
We are definitely starting to see signs of spring here in the Carolinas. But March can often be an iffy weather season around here. They’re calling for a slight chance of snow this upcoming week !
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Oh Yuk. :(
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Signs of spring are good! Snow not so much :)
Diana says
We have some crocus blooming in south central Kentucky. Tulip and some other bulbs peeking leaves out. I’m hoping I planted some daffodils last fall. I don’t see them yet. We had brief rain and snow this afternoon. Next three days below freezing and then warming up to 50 and 60. God bless!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
I love daffodils. My youngest enjoys digging them up though so I don’t think I have any left ?
Marylin Furumasu says
Elizabeth,
I totally understand what you’re feeling regarding lack of snow. Right now I’m looking out my window and there’s beautiful blue sky with no clouds, yet, it is really windy and the temp is only 39.
God did give us a bit of a fun week last week. We woke up to a small dusting of snow and icy roads on Monday and Tuesday, then on Wednesday we had a whole lot more and big flakes came down. Unfortunately, they didn’t really stick too much and by the afternoon it was all just wet.
I’m just thankful we don’t have rain right now. That is usually what we get.
LucyReynolds says
We had two days at 60 this week and I saw my first robins. I worked outside cleaning up branches etc from the high winds. Now it is snowing again. Typical March in WV.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
No rain is good! It just started sleeting here. I’d honestly prefer just about anything else.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
WV sounds a lot like VA. :)
Ellie says
It is snowing in my neck of the woods! It’s so pretty but I dislike having to shovel.
On another note, I’m planning to order your new release tonight – I see it’s out in paperback now! :)
Elizabeth Maddrey says
It is! Yay – thanks :)
And is it weird that I like shoveling? Cause I do. It’s weird, right?
Dianna says
I’m new to the Inspy romance blog and have enjoyed reading the posts here!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Yay! We’re glad you’re here!
Priscila says
I can’t think of being stuck in snow anymore. I still haven’t taken it out of my system. Some people seem to love it though. I talked with my aunt today and she kept sending me pictures of her house in Michigan and telling me about the cold and snow… inviting us back to visit. I actually do have a work trip scheduled to the US, but it’s in May (which is a safe month) and it’s to Florida (which means I’m going to be enjoying good weather while traipsing around many University’s campi). Right now I’m enjoying the end of summer and hoping for another month worth of focused time (at least I can dream about it) before I start teaching again on 3/11.
Jessica B. says
Last week as I was leaving church I noticed a few flowers bravely beginning to poke through the dirt. Today, however, we received around 1″ of snow and the temps are supposed to be be in the 20’s for the next couple of days.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Oh I’m glad you’ll have good weather for your visit!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Brrr. Hope those were hardier flowers (probably given that those tend to be the ones trying to poke out in late February, but still.)
Melynda says
I can’t wait for nice weather! We’ve had a few nice days over the past month and it’s made the cold and rainy days feel even colder and more dreary.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
The little teaser days are hard for sure! Just come on, spring!
Pam Whorwell says
Daffodils are starting to poke up through the snow giving me hope that spring will soon be here even though it just got done snowing 2 more inches. lol
Elizabeth Maddrey says
They’re such brave little flowers!
Pam Whorwell says
yes they are!!
Kathy Danheim says
Hi Elizabeth! We are having our usual last cold front. Well, the key word being “usual”. Now days who knows. We are in the 30’s and for Central Texas, that’s cold. I love reading the articles on here. The are very insightful.
Thank you
Natalya Lakhno says
So true! It’s probably cheaper to plan vacations lol
Susanne says
Very cold here. I’m very ready for warmer weather!
Teresa Martin says
I started planting yesterday my spring crops! Yeah!
