Happy Sunday!
Are you exhausted? I dislike Daylight Savings time. (Maybe you live somewhere that has done away with it – lucky you!) I’m going to miss that hour of sleep for at least another week.
The photo is of Galway Bay taken near Dunguaire Castle in the west of Ireland in 2005. (Sob. It’s been too long since I was in Ireland.)
I decided, it being March and everything, that I’d dig through my photos from our last trip to Ireland for the Sunday Editions this month. If nothing else, it gives me a chance to revisit them.
I love Ireland.
Do you have a country you’d love to visit over and over again?

Cassandra Myers says
Other than a day trip into Tijuana when I was 5 and again at 11 have never left the US, and I likely will never have the money in the future either.
Paula Marie says
I have never been, but would love to see Italy, the birth place of all my grandparents!
Renate says
Hi Elizabeth! I also dislike Daylight Savings Time. Thanks for sharing your picture of Ireland. I would love to visit Germany again. Last visit was in 2009. Best wishes! Enjoy your Sunday.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Travel is expensive for sure.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Any specific part or the whole country?
Elizabeth Maddrey says
I loved so many things about our trip to Germany when I was little.
Valerie Comer says
No time change here, which has it’s own challenges when the world shifts around you!
I haven’t traveled enough to have a “repeat country” though this Canadian has been to the USA many times. But then, we live close to the border so it’s not all about a dream vacation destination!
Paula Marie says
My grandparents are from Umbria, Calabria, Naples and Capri….so definitely those areas. But I would love to see the whole country!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Ohh…that is a struggle. You have to relearn the time differences now.
Natalya Lakhno says
I voted for it to end… :( where is my extra hour…
Well, hopefully on the future…
Ireland is beautiful! I’m the ocean type person lol I’ve visited Aruba while cruising and I’m in love! White sand, turquoise water…sigh…one day :)
Tammy Francis says
I want to go to Scotland, Ireland, and England. My husband and I got to visit New York City in the Fall of 2017, and we loved it. We are from Western Canada, so it was across the continent.
Valerie Comer says
Even after nearly 40 years of dealing with it, we’re still constantly getting them wrong! #slowlearners
Elizabeth Maddrey says
I’m not a big fan of the ocean to be honest – I like to look at it but not be in it :)
Elizabeth Maddrey says
How fun! New York City is a great place to visit but I wouldn’t want to live there.
Lori Smanski says
Happy Sunday. Argghh, I so agree with you about day light savings time.
I love Ireland. And I would love to visit someday.
I have a lot of Irish in me. Our daughter really likes all things Irish.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
If you’re able to get over there you should! It’s such a wonderful place. :)
MJSH says
Sigh. Would love to visit Ireland. Some of the books I’ve read recently have fueled my longing even more….
Elizabeth Maddrey says
That’s absolutely how it starts :) Books are great, but then you want to see it in real life.
Diana says
I would like to visit Hawaii to see the beautiful scenery and and birds. I love the ocean but the Hawaiian surfing waves are scary. Don’t know if I’m brave enough for that.
I’d like to visit France where my grandmother came from to the USA in her twenties.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Hawaii would be lovely to visit – it’s been on my list for a while as well.
SARAH TAYLOR says
Hello Elizabeth I love daylight savings time I have never been to Ireland but would love to visit one day! Have a Happy Sunday and enjoy the day!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Oh fascinating – why do you love it? I’d love to try and change my mindset with a benefit.
Ausjenny says
two places for me I love Canada and I love Hawaii. I could visit Hawaii every year if I could afford it as its only 10 hours away Canada is 17.
It seems nuts that you start Daylight savings before your Fall even starts. Here we only have it for 6 months and that’s to long. We go from the beginning of Oct to the end of March. I wish it had ended the end of Feb as I hate waking in the dark. and when it does end it will be dark around 6pm.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Canada is lovely – so many different types of places to see there. I haven’t had a chance to see many, but a couple of them.
And yes! They moved DST earlier two or three years ago. I don’t love the change :)
Ellie says
I not much of a traveller, however I like cold and snow and think it would be great to take a scenic train trip across Canada!
Melynda says
There are quite a few places I’d love to take my kids. My favorite place to go is to visit my grandma in California.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Oohhh…that would be fun!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
Aw, that’s fun!
Jessica B. says
I’m very glad to have the extra daylight back but it was a little rough getting up this morning.
Elizabeth Maddrey says
It was nice to leave Awana tonight while it was still light.
Dianna says
I hate DST, too! Will take a while to get used to it this week.
The only time I was out of the country was when I was a toddler, so I don’t remember. Would love to visit Europe someday — especially Italy to see artwork and architecture!
Elizabeth Maddrey says
There is so much to see in Italy for sure!
Lelia (Lucy) Reynolds says
I love DST as I love being outdoors later and working in my yard and garden. I have never been out of the country. Blessings
Susanne says
I would love to see Israel!
