Welcome to May! Is there a lovelier time of year? I posit that there isn’t, at least in the northern hemisphere. When I think of May’s opposite, it brings me to November, the dreariest, rainiest, foggiest, miserabalist month! Sorry, those of you south of the equator.
But May. It’s a time for blossoms and tea, and that’s how we’ll celebrate Sunday Editions for the next few weeks. Look around you! Smell spring in the air. Don’t sniff the pollen and sneeze, though…

Hi Valerie, I love tea and flowers, I look forward to joining in the celebrations. The last couple of days have certainly shown that Winter is not far off here in the Southern Hemisphere. It has been so very dry that the rain that has fallen is incredibly welcome- even if it is cold!! Our grape vine has turned into a glorious celebration of autumn, while our ornamental pears are only just beginning to turn. We picked the last of the tomatoes and raspberries this weekend- lots of sauce and relish making with the green tomatoes.
Blessings:)
Hi Valerie! May in Michigan is definitely a time of blossoms. Our community had the annual Blossomtime Parade yesterday. Holland Michigan is having Tulip Time this entire week with street cleaning and folk dancing. The tulip fields will be in full bloom by Mother’s Day. While the temperatures have been below normal – only 38 degrees (4 degrees C), the rain has finally stopped and the days are longer. First asparagus of the season is being harvested and the garden centers have finally opened. Blessing to all this Sunday.
Hi, Val! May here in Florida is hot…spring only lasted about five days in March, lol!
Thank you so much for the gift card!!❤️
Love the pictures of tea and lilacs. My favorites. Looking forward to reading another great story by Janet Ferguson and Autumn MacArrthur! Thanks for the post!
Here in GA, it is warming up (maybe too much!) and we are having rain and thunderstorms.
Maybe sunshine will come today! Flowers are blooming, and we have baby birds!
Happy Sunday to all!
I love May here in Virginia before it gets extremely hot and humid for the summer!
I’m thrilled to be Lindi’s winner for the gift card, thank you!
I think May means hope! What is better than robins, green grass, the smell of dirt as you start planting the garden, flowers (and rhubarb!!) finally peeking out of the earth??
Thank you so much for sharing what early May is like for you Down Under!
Our valley is full of blossoms on the fruit trees now, too. Our Blossom Fest is the third weekend of May (our Victoria Day long weekend). And yes, local asparagus is just coming on. Thanks for the reminder to swing by the farm – it’s only a couple of miles away.
Congrats on winning one of the April gift cards! We were still having winter in March, except for that twenty minutes on the eighteenth (kidding – it was half an hour…)
I love lilacs, too! Mine are just starting to bud.
Rapid changes in weather can bring out the worst in storms, can’t they! But yay for blooms and baby birds.
Congrats on winning a gift card! And yes, May is that great time when it’s pleasant and warm and full of life… before the heat takes it out of us.
I love that!!! Yes, HOPE and new gardens and rhubarb. Another few days, and mine will be big enough to harvest from.
Good morning. Valerie! I love tea and lilacs. I actually like to collect tea cups and saucers in variety of colors and patterns. I live in Oklahoma and we have had rain, hail, cool to warm weather and a couple tornadoes. I really enjoy being a part of Inspy Romance! Happy Sunday!
We enjoy having you! I’ve seen tornado reports from down your way. Is it my imagination, or is this rather early in the year for them?
I’m in Florida, we only have winter and summer, and summer is most of the year!! May to me is my Mom’s Birthday, and this year she’ll be 95. May is also Mother’s Day, another day to honor her for all she means to me.
Happy Birthday to your mom! Had mine lived, she’d have been 97 this year.
