Happy Mother’s Day! Whether you’re a mom, a foster mom, a grandma, an aunt, a daughter, a niece, a best friend, a mentor, or whichever, let’s celebrate the women in our lives who are right there when we need them. Mother’s Day can be a sad time, too, remembering those who’ve gone on before.

Happy mothers day to everyone. I have a few friends who have now adopted but found the day so hard cos they couldn’t have children and tend to be forgotten on the day or not thought about. (These were married) I being single never married didn’t have an issue as I saw it as a way to celebrate my mother.
I also have a friend who was a foster mum of 6 (ended up adopting all) When they asked for mothers to stand up the kids said why aren’t you standing up you have 6 kids. (she had the most at the church), It humbled her they thought of her as mum (mom) and had not qualms about letting everyone know she was their mother.
I am a mother of two monsters yes they have fur and they like to wake me up way to early and they constantly want food (often my food) but they are my babies I am their mama. (not mum cos that was what my mum was called).

My own mum is pretty awesome, but so is my mother-in-law and my godmother. As a teen, my church pastor recognised the need for those recently baptised to have a mentor (and that he could not do this by himself!)- my Godparents as I call them have filled a very special place in my heart. My god mum shares my love of books, of being with family, she is hard working and willing to step out of her comfort zone to volunteer/be involved. She opened her heart and home to me as a teen and I feel blessed that God chose her to be my second mum:)

I’m going to give a shout out to one of my best friends who was my “mom” during my time of on-line dating. My real mom would have been way too nervous about this so my friend filled in. I would tell her where I was going, who I was meeting, and when I got home. She had all sorts of rules and advice every time and I think it was more fun to interact with her than it was to go on most of the dates!
