My husband, two youngest sons, and I recently returned from a cruise. Several nights during our trip, the steward gifted us with a towel animal. I’m not sure what this guy is, but isn’t he cute?
I have limited time today to chit-chat. I’m supposed to be at my son’s house (an older one) in 45 minutes, and I still need to change. It takes about 15 to get there, so I’m typing fast. DEADLINES! :D

Cute towel animal, but I’m with you, I don’t know what it is.
Ginger Solomon says
:)
Ausjenny says
What a cute towel. How exciting to see what you will get each day. This one looks a bit like a dog. When I went to one of the hospitals for a specialist appointment I went to the gift shop and they had some face washer (wash cloths) done up as rabbits. Teddy bears. they are done as a gift for new mum’s
Ginger Solomon says
That’s cute. I think I’ve seen them in gift shops as well (at hospitals).
Wemble says
Hi Ginger- haha, how funny! I wonder how long it takes the steward to make a towel animal for everyone!
The first Sunday in September is Father’s Day here in Australia, so we spent the morning wandering our local market, then hubby and the kids watched a movie together- a relaxing day!
Blessings:)
Ginger Solomon says
Well, happy Father’s Day to your hubby and to all the Aussie daddies out there in IR land. Sounds like you had a restful day.
Renate says
Hi Ginger! Thanks for sharing. I have stayed at several Michigan hotels near Mackinaw City were housecleaning made towel animals. At one hotel the animal was a swan. Also been to banquets were the napkins where swans. Special touches makes the visit personal and puts a smile of people’s faces. Congrats to this weeks winners and thanks to the authors for this month’s Back to School Bash. Best wishes to all.
Ginger Solomon says
I’ve never had a towel animal at a hotel. Interesting. I have seen the different ones made of napkins. Those are impressive, because napkins are so thin.
I definitely smile at the towel animals. :)
Michelle says
I think the animal towel is a cute dog! Would love to see pictures of your cruise :)
Happy Labor Day weekend!
Ginger Solomon says
Definitely could be a dog. Keep checking in to the Sunday Editions this month. More pics to come. ;)
Pat says
What a cute towel animal! Not sure what it is though.
Ginger Solomon says
Some have suggested a dog, so … *shrug*
Paula Marie says
How adorable the towel animals are! Looks like maybe a puppy to me, but even if not, still sweet!
Ginger Solomon says
Several people think it’s a dog. Some are more obvious than others. This one is open to interpretation, I think.
Brenda Day says
What a great giveaway good luck everyone. Thanks for a chance.
Ginger Solomon says
:)
Kathy says
Good Sunday morning, Ginger! I was just reading your comments and had to laugh. My husband and I are going on a cruise starting on the 8th. I’m not sure what your towel animal is, but he sorta looks like a walrus with the tusks sticking out. lol. I’ve been pretty busy this month and missed a lot. I hope to go back and read some articles. All the prizes are great. Of course I’m always partial to signed books. They make them more personal.
Well, I just wanted to just in here before church. It would be pretty bad if I’m late since my husband is the minister. lol 😂
Praise the Lord! Blessings for a wonderful Sunday morning!
Ginger Solomon says
Have fun on your cruise. And I hope you weren’t late to church. :)
Lori Smanski says
that towel animal is the cutest. have fun at your sons. happy sunday
Ginger Solomon says
Thanks, Lori. We did have fun, though I was super tired.
MJSH says
We need to go on a cruise soon! It’s been too long. Hope you had a fabulous time. And thanks for the book!
Ginger Solomon says
I love cruising. No laundry (until I get home). No meals to fix. No dishes to wash. I don’t even have to clean the bathroom or make the bed. :) And I get to see interesting places and wonderful sunrises and sunsets.
Toni Sprouse says
What an adorable towel arrangement! We went on a Princess Cruise last year (our first ever) and they didn’t do the towel animals. I was a bit disappointed! Thanks for all the great book suggestions, I’m off to check them out!
Ginger Solomon says
No towel animals? I would be disappointed too.
Arletta says
I love the towel animals! And some restaurants will make animals out of the tinfoil they wrap your leftovers in. Talent I don’t have!
Enjoy your day at your son’s.
Ginger Solomon says
I think I’ve seen those, but I haven’t received one. I’ve tried my hand at origami a time or two. I’m okay, but not exceptional for sure.
Ann Stewart says
What a cute animal! Thanks for the chance to enter the giveaway
Ginger Solomon says
Always happy to give things away. :)
Trudy says
The towel animal is cute! I’ll trade your deadlines for Hurricane Dorian!! I’m sure Paula Marie would, too!!
Ginger Solomon says
Stay safe, for sure. I haven’t seen the latest (I avoid the news most days), but when we got back last week and saw that it was forming, I was thankful we weren’t traveling this week. We sailed out of Port Canaveral (on the eastern side of Florida–where Dorian was originally supposed to make landfall). I’ve been on a cruise where there was a storm a LONG way away, and LOTS of passengers were getting sick. We all walked like we’d had too, too much to drink. Even some of the crew were sick. I can’t imagine being on a cruise ship in that part of the Atlantic right now. :o
Trudy says
I’m just south of Port Canaveral. We participate in the Canaveral Port Ministry there. It’s about a 45 minute drive north for me. I wouldn’t want to be out there right now, either!!!
Ginger Solomon says
So, that would put you around Palm Bay/Melbourne area? We lived there for a few years many moons ago.
Trudy says
Actually, West Melbourne, but you know the area!!
Lori R says
Whatever the towel animal is it is cute.
Ginger Solomon says
:)
Jan Thompson says
Doesn’t the towel animal look like a walrus? I remember the cruises we took, and sometimes they folded the towels to look like elephants, rabbits, etc. Very cute!
Ginger Solomon says
Maybe? No mater what it is, it is definitely cute.
Melynda says
So excited that I won something!
I really love the new release section of the Sunday edition. It’s so fun to see what’s coming out soon.
Ginger Solomon says
Happy for you, Melynda. And we’re happy to serve our readers.
Judy says
Cute towel animal! It does kind of look like a walrus.
Ginger Solomon says
:)
Patty says
My husband and I would love to go on a cruise one of these days!
Ginger Solomon says
If you catch them at the right time, they are really not that expensive, comparatively. The prices fluctuate quite a bit, so find one you like and keep an eye on it. :)
Tabitha Dukes says
Looks like a bear to me but could be a dog, as well. My husband and I have gone twice. It’s time for another one.
Ginger Solomon says
Could be a bear, too. Hard to tell.
Paula Shreckhise says
Cute towel. They are creative!
Have fun on your visit. Have a great holiday! Blessings!
Ginger Solomon says
Thanks.
Priscila Perales says
Isn’t it amazing how a “simple” gesture made from something “simple” (a towel) can brighten your day? The only time I found this was at a hotel we were staying with my parents (it was a swan). Yours looks so cute!
Ginger Solomon says
It is a simple gesture, but it did always make me smile.
SARAH TAYLOR says
Such a cute towel whatever it may be Enjoy your Day and Thank you all for the amazing giveaway!
Natalya Lakhno says
Ok, I googled it LOL It should’ve been a bear BUT it needs a bit of modification :))
Susanne says
Very creative!
