Y’all, I had the most amazing weekend. Our church had our annual women’s conference Friday night and most of the day on Saturday. There’s nothing like worshiping with over 1,000 women.
The Lord spoke through those speakers to ME (and I’m sure to all the other women as well). If you’ve been around here for any amount of time, you know I’ve struggled with my writing. I’ve contemplated quitting because it had become such a battle for me, bringing me to tears on several occasions.
But God …
But God, in His infinite grace and mercy, made it clear—abundantly clear—that I am not done. I have to press through and stop believing the lie that my season of writing is over and that I should quit trying. So I ask that you all would pray for me (or continue for those who have lifted me up in the past weeks/months). I need to:
- focus
- limit distractions
- trust God for the words
- believe HIM instead of the lie
- declare God’s love has conquered my fear
That’s a basic list, but if you feel led to pray in some other way, have at it. Just don’t pray for me to have patience. :D

Your post made me think about this season in my life. As a book reviewer and blogger, where does God want me to go from here? Thank you for your post and good luck to all those that entered the giveaways. God Bless!!
Wemble says
Hi Ginger, thank you for the specifics to pray for you. I remember a couple years ago you wrote a serial story for your posts each month- any chance of that coming out on kindle? I remember the heroine was running away from her boss/owner… can’t quite remember, just that it was an intriguing story.
We had a quiet weekend, catching up on housework/grocery shopping and I got some marking done- still more to go though!!
Blessings:)

So glad you had such a great weekend! And, that God used it to speak to you about your writing. He’s so great that way!!! I’ll be praying for you, as I do quite a few other authors every day. There’s something extra special about getting together with other women to worship God and study His word. Our ladies Bible study will be starting up again in a couple of weeks, and I’m looking forward to being with those ladies again. We meet weekly, and get so much from each other!

Ginger, your books have been a blessing to me and I’m sure many others. I was at a leadership conference in May and one of the speakers said, when it gets tough, don’t throw in the towel, but use the towel to wipe your brow, and keep going. I pray that God will help you through this time, and that your writing will bring you joy.
Laurie Larsen says
Hallelujah for answered prayers! So glad you got your answer.

It is. But it is also encouraging because He–the God of the universe, the creator of every thing, both seen and unseen–sees me, knows me, and loves me enough to reach out and speak to my issues.

Paula Shreckhise says
In our sermon this morning, pastor told us something Martin Luther recounted. If the Devil accuses you and says you are a sinner, tell him: Thankyou! Yes, but Jesus came to redeem me and it’s taken care of! Even Satan can point us toward Christ, and how good He is!
Glad you got encouragement at your gathering! Blessings!
Ausjenny says

Glad you are finding focus and a breakthrough in your writing. You must be an inspiration for your children. Remember too that the lives we live and the relationships we share are more important than the stories we write. Thanks for sharing your struggles. God bless you . Judy from Canada
