Happy fall.
I hope the temperatures are cooler where you are than they are here in Alabama. Our forecast for the week is in the 90s. ALL WEEK. And sadly, no significant amount of rain. We are nearly three inches in deficit for the month of September, mostly because it hasn’t rained all month. :( Obviously that’s not good for our plants, but it was good because it allowed the construction crew to keep working on a small addition we’re doing to our house. Pictures to come in a future post (possibly November).
Now on to this week’s announcements.

Hi Ginger, I hope you get some cooler weather and rain soon. It is still cool here, but later this week we should see some sun and get over 20 degrees (celsius). In other parts of Australia, there are bushfires- crazy!
Blessings:)
PS- thank you:)
Congratulations to the winners!
We are in the 90s in Florida too….so so hot!😖
I live in Alabama, too and I know what you mean about the hot weather.
Live in GA and it is very hot, humid, dry here.
Blessings on your day!
Here in FL where I am, we’re also about 3 inches short of rainfall. I’d take a tropical storm to get some rain!!! I don’t want a hurricane, it’s those that have brought us the dry weather, but I’d like a good rainstorm.
Whereas in SE British Columbia, gardens have been harvested, nights are frosty (and, this weekend, days aren’t much warmer), and snow is creeping down the mountains! I’ll take it. :)
That is good that the construction can continue. This whole month, we have had rain off and on. Lots of river flood warnings. But with all that there is the gray days, so I always have lots of light on where I am. I cant do what my husband does and that is sit in a room without light. Happy Autumn. Cant wait to see the pictures to come.
I am in the South too! We sure could use some rain.
I’d love to see 20 degrees right now. We’re not even hitting that at night. :( (Thankful for C to F calculators.)
PS. You’re welcome.
Yep!
Makes me definitely not want to visit hell. :o
It’s awful; isn’t it?
Fall weather, where are you?
It seems the southeast is predominately hot, humid, but dry as a bone. Praying for the cooler weather from the north to push down.
I agree, Trudy. I like thunderstorms, but we definitely don’t need any lightning strikes. We need the rain too much for that right now.
I love the snow too. I definitely prefer the winter months as I can always ADD more layers of clothing. But being a southern girl, I don’t drive in it. EVER. I wouldn’t know what to do. And that’s why southern schools are out at the first hint of snow. :D I’ll take the cooler weather, though.
I love my light, too. Sun is imperative, as long as I’m not directly in it. We had TONS of rain earlier this year—flood warnings, etc—but since then we’ve been mostly dry. Need rain.
Yep. A nice rain shower would be great.
It’s going to be in the 90s here all week, too!
Isn’t that the truth!!! I don’t want a thunderstorm, just a nice rainstorm. A nice, long, slow rain, would do us a lot of good!
Meanwhile in Australia I am hanging out for some warmer weather. we have been in the around 60 going down to 32 overnight.
I hope you get some rain. Some parts of Australia haven’t had a decent rain in years. We have had rain Sept but think its below average also.
Thank you! We had lovely rain, last week, but we’re still behind as we didn’t see much rain this past summer. It was cool but will be warming up again. I feel your pain. :-)
Yes, it would.
It’s contagious. LOL
Years? Gracious. Spring is upon you, you shall receive warmer weather, and then you too will be bemoaning the heat. :)
Cool? We had a few days of upper 80s. LOL It did get down into the upper 50s for one night. Sadly, it was NOT long enough.
Still Hot and Humid here in Ohio cant wait for the cooler tempts. Need some much needed rain also!
I am another from Alabama and suffering heat and no rain. I am from the Cullman area.
Have a blessed week everyone! It’s cooling down in Nor Cal :)
Yes some parts of Queensland and New South Wales haven’t had decent rain for years some up to 7 years. We have towns running out of water and having to have it shipped in. There are places where again there will be no harvest this year.
Some problems are from mismanagement, Like some areas growing cotton which takes so much water but in an area with not as high a rainfall average. But cos they are on a river they use so much of it meaning downstream misses out. They could grow it in areas where there is high rainfall and it would reduce the pressure on the river. (Being in South Australia we are at the end of this river and we get way less water than we should thanks to these sorts of crops). The problem to is if it rains heavy the soil is so dry that it just runs off and doesn’t soak in.
