February — the month of love! And we’re discovering there’s more to love than romance! We’re having a peek this month at the four of the varieties of love as set out in C.S. Lewis’s book, The Four Loves.
This week? Eros! Just because romantic love isn’t the ONLY kind of love doesn’t mean we should ignore it! According to Wikipedia…
Eros, for Lewis, was love in the sense of “being in love” or “loving” someone, as opposed to the raw sexuality of what he called Venus: the illustration Lewis used was the distinction between “wanting a woman” and wanting one particular woman….
Many of us here have found eros. If so, we probably celebrated Valentine’s Day on Friday with our significant other!

My husband and I are incredibly bad at selfies! It’s a running joke by now, honestly. He took this one on our road trip to Las Vegas for a writing conference back in November. It’s the best of the lot LOL. We’ll be celebrating forty years :O of marriage in August. I’d say the ability to laugh at ourselves is one of the keys to staying together for this long. So thankful for this guy.

During this Birthday Bash would be fun to hear from readers how they discovered Inspy Romance – which author and when.
As readers of romance, I hope everybody readers and authors had a wonderful Valentine’s Day. I was blessed and celebrated with my husband of 47 years on Wednesday, my granddaughters Thursday morning before school, had a lunch and dinner date with my 14 year old grandson on Friday and yesterday went to a kids performance with my six year old granddaughter and had lemon tango dessert at her favorite restaurant. Best Valentine week every. Best wishes to all.

I always thought it was such a beautiful insight by Lewis to point out that Eros wasn’t about sex but about the desire for the beloved. It could be for the beloved’s strength of character and relationship with the Lord or witty and engaging conversation or the companionship of shared laughter. It drives the outworking of a deep longing for and appreciation of the beloved. I would say that, contrary to what the world’s labels say, eros is the heart of inspirational romance. I am so grateful for the way that all of the IR authors have presented the beauty of that desire as God’s gift to His children. Thank you so much!
Love your photo! Lol. Selfies are tricky. Congrats on the 40 yrs. Hubby & I are somewhere in that same ballpark; I stopped counting awhile back. We have found humor & shared adventures key in our marriage. Every now & then we’ll mix it up with something new. We both certified for scuba diving at age 50 – it’s a blast that we can share together. :D On Valentines Day, I worked & served other couples while they celebrated “their” day – & had a great time!
